@@RaptorT1V imo it lacks the power (horowitz is very good at it). Just listen to the climax on both videos. There is a clear difference in the dynamics and tempo.

@@RaptorT1V Could not agree more with Duen. Both this and Horowitz's version really highlight the emotion of the piece. They almost emulate the feeling of one losing its sanity. Whereas Rosseau's version - although respectable performance - lacks that energy and emotion.

As a person who learnt this piece, I really appreciate the fact that brought out the middle section (0:52-0:54 is one example) where alot of people (including me) forgets about the complexcity of the Scriabin etudes and how much emotions are packed into every note, Bravo.

Listen to Sultanov performance. You will hear one of the bets performance ever, if not the best, with a voicing extremely original on that part!

@@cubepiano4630 definitely not for me, Horowitz isn't enough intense. Sultanov has just so much rage, despair, passion and fire! Also that middle section is very delicate, pratically elegant. That's why I love sultanov so much, and also the voicing!

@@derekpintozzi2498 what a stupid question, no offent. I mean, we can see he’s as good as rousseau when it comes to technique, so it’s about interpretation. If I play a piece i’ve mastered, it’s exactly what I want from it, like it can’t get any better because it’s the way i like it and i want to play it, same by traum i guess.

@@derekpintozzi2498 oh i see, and yes, he played technically harder pieces than rousseau. Rousseau plays perfect, nearly robotic and traum interpreters more, so you can’t really compare them but like i said, traum played technically more difficult pieces.

This. This actually made me feel something. I’ve heard this piece before, but could never feel what Scriabin was trying to describe. The way you play, though, brought it all out, I can feel every note inside my heart. This is beautiful.

If you are a pianist of top calibre, I think you can fully perfect a piece of this difficulty in two weeks. Not that I am; I've been on this piece for two months and counting :'-)

I guess the reason is that the channel is established for only five months. Most for who want to do this kind of performance must have learned a lot of pieces. Maybe he is just playing the pieces that ha has already learned for a long time.

Oh my goodness!!! This piece destroyed my soul when I attempted to play it, and showed me I am but a mere mortal. Scriabin is a BEAST and this man playing it is the man. Its like dude was like, "you know what's fun? Polyrythmns. Let's just make a song of that." Been playing for a very long time and still struggle with polys. Any tips you've found that are effective??? Thank you!!

Btw, I’m pretty sure the section with the counter melody starting at 0:52 is done with the middle pedal. So imagine him shuffling both of his feet while playing while playing the actual music.

Wow really good performance, much better than Rousseau's version and at 0:36-0:40 that buildup and then the sudden soft moments is so beautiful. You played it like Horowitz himself!

I started practicing this piece last Feb-Mar 2020... Now, I'm still practicing it... LOL! I need to play the part starting at 1:45 over and over again just to perfect it... This is amazing and you have a very balanced finger... I'm only an amateur piano player (never taught by any professionals) and my weakest finger is my left ring finger. I was thinking of injecting steroids on my left ring finger just to induce muscle formation fast... HAHA!!! Kidding aside, amazing piano playing!

Phenomenal performance 👏👏👏👏👏 Although i do think you could have listened to the 32nd note rests a bit more (at the ends of the phrases, for instance at the end of the second, fourth and sixth bars with the climbing sixteenth note octaves)

You did a great job, your performance was very similar to how Horowitz played this piece, all he did different was highlight the bass notes more and just of course the supreme Horowitz dynamic control

I like this interpretation, well done Traum. Still, i miss the bass banging like in Horowitz's version. It adds some deepness in the interpretation.

Your interpretation is one of the best. Congrats! May I ask a question: In bar 4 beat 1 and bar 5 beat 1 in the left hand, do you recommend to play the base tone together with right hand cord or do you recommend the upper note together with right hand cord ? Although I realised that in bar 2/beat 1 (l.h.) you are playing an octave d# and in bar 3/beat one you play octave f#. Is this intentionally ? In my sheet music they are both d#/f# ?
