Thanks so much for the tutorial. My version is 1.4.3 and the menus and dialogue boxes are different from yours however due to your super-clear explanations I was able to find the appropriate settings on my version. I'll be watching more tutorials from you. Thanks for taking the time to make these!

I am new to Scribus and downloaded it a few days ago. I wanted to make brochures using this software. I think I had a misconception about desktop publishing software. This is the second tutorial I have come across that does not make use the already existent 3-fold brochure option that is displayed along with the single page layout you clicked. After you select single page, you proceed to add columns manually -- something I would have thought the 3-fold brochure option would have automatically done for you. Why don't people use the 3-fold option? Also, why is it necessary for the user to to worry and keep track of the layout by labeling the pages (extra 1, cover etc.)? Shouldn't the software automatically handle text flow from one brochure panel to the next without having to manually track it yourself?

I have the same question. why don't we use the 3-fold brochure at first instead of choosing single page and then separate it into 3 parts after that? I did try the 3-fold way with 1 page, it did not appear 3 layers as I want it to be. make me really confused
