I am an elder US veteran. The first time I saw Mayor Pete he was walking onto the stage of a television show. My immediate reaction was disdain. He looked like a cliche. He had a pressed white shirt on with a loosened tie. The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up mid way on his forearms. Yep, he had the "I am ready to get to work" political fashion statement on. I said out loud, "You've got to be kidding me. Another milk toast candidate." Then he started talking and my jaw went slack. Since then I've watched a lot of Mayor Pete. In an attempt to rein in my hopes I've reminded myself I'm only seeing him at his best. He's on stage with people who are generally supportive or just curious. How will he speak to the portion of the population that has no problem sharing their unbridled animosity toward him? If he continues to engage in this articulate and thoughtful manner I may lose control of these reins. To date all of my research about him confirms he is no poser. There is 40 years difference in our ages yet I must be convinced he is an intelligent genuine leader I can trust. I think that because of this realization: If he and I were in uniform together I would be by his side as he ran into the firefight. A symbolic parallel to what he is currently attempting.

What I admire more than anything else is Peter Buttigieg seldom uses the pronoun ‘ I’ It’s always ‘we / us ‘, he’s warmly inclusive & openly grateful for team efforts. One of the many qualities that reveal the genuineness of this man. He’s PR, the best kind, that America cannot have enough of. The world could be so much better off with more uncomplicated /unprogrammed politicians like Pete. Seems like a prayer that won’t be answered soon, if ever. His wide-open answers make one ready to give him the steering wheel in (hopefully) the near future.

Having watched and listened to many of Pete's speeches on videos/youtube .. I am convinced that he is the best Democratic candidate for the position as President of the U.S.A. His intelligence, his knowledge, his calm character make him stand head and shoulders above the other candidates. Unfortunately as a Canadian I cannot vote in American politics .. however if I was an American he would have my vote for sure 😁👍

I love this man. He is brilliant, has an ethical, spiritual, intellectual, experiential heart. When I voted for Obama, twice, I voted for a statesman. He somehow overcame the prejudice against his race. I see Buttigieg and Obama as similar. I was hoping for Bernie in 2016. I admire Bernie, Biden and now Buttigieg. Bravo!!!
