I absolutely LOVE this marking system!! I have used it since the beginning of grade 9 and WILL use it for the rest of life! I use it in my scriptures, conference talks, and Come follow Me book! Hands down the BEST!! I love I can colour code the digital version too!

Thank you for sharing your marking system! I have also been marking Conference talks- it's pretty simple now, and I may adjust it, but it's what I want for now. Yellow is "awesome", blue is "invitations", and purple is "promises". I wanted to recognize better what we were being asked/encouraged (invited) to do, and also to identify promises made from our church leaders.

I am afraid you and I are a lot a like in that BLUE Tie's and RED Scriptures are part of they life. Also, I drive a RED cars and our Home is mainly BLUE. My wife doesn't know any other color. So with that said I plan to try your Scripture Marking System. Having served in most of all the various callings in the church I look forward to you and Chelsea's take on the D&C. I am a convert but was another denomination christian before. I remember my way around the bible from the smaller headlines in chapters. Like 1 Corinthians 13 titled love, for example.

I appreciate hearing the reasoning for brown on missionary work. Do you have a reason for Satan and evil to be red? Previously I’ve used red to mark when Jesus is speaking so I’m having a hard time using red for Satan.

I actually prefer the electronic version of the scriptures 🤷‍♀️For many things I will add a "tag" to many different words/sentences. Then I can see which ones are marked as things like... prayer, faith, forgive, pour out, etc. - it's a fairly easy way to find those scriptures. And some of the tags are things which affected me personally - so there are tags of... healing, saving, etc (because those are scriptures which offered healing or have saved me from acting on negative suicidal thoughts, those are very special verses to me). I also use tags for the word IF (pretty much in the BofM - but not every single IF) - the ones where there is a condition of IF this THEN that... not always is it spelled out that way, sometimes the THEN is inferred. I also use the colors a bit differently than you do - anything related to the Atonement of Jesus Christ, or maybe are specific words which he spoke - those are marked in Red (symbolizing that He shed blood His for me during the act of the Atonement). Everyone I guess needs to come up with their own color system, and what works for them. Think I actually prefer the electronic version because I can increase the font size so it's easier to read - and not heavy like the large set of scriptures (or as John Bytheway calls them, his High Priest set 😂😂 trust me when you get older that font size becomes quite important!!). But thanks for these insights - I may change or add other colors. For doctrine I've used blue - in the electronic version there's two blues so may need to specify which is used). There's also full highlight or underline, which is helpful if a verse has two different subjects - you can use the full highlight and underline in two different colors!!

Color/Colour Issue Crayola colored pencils 12 count here in the lone star state the color pink is missing so what is the suggested substitute for plan of salvation/atonement

@Stevescott, yes could you show us how to properly use the digital scriptures? Like for linking etc? I like my paper scriptures, but do find it handy to have the digital ones also - I hate that I've marked both, and they aren't "caught-up" to each other. ....someday

@@SteveScott10 I would write with pencil when I take notes (because I think it helps my penmanship and erasing, of course) but then my notebooks are all smudgy so I don't use pencil and have never used pencil in my scriptures. I appreciate that you did a separate video on marking so that your class could focus on the study. You described your method last year but didn't see the relevance until you described in this video being able to see at a glance what the page said to you.

In the Doctrine and Covenants, especially in the early sections, the word repentance appears frequently. In fact, of the 28 uses of the word "repentance" "repent" appear's 90 times, 48 of them are in the first 66 sections. Declare nothing but repentance unto this generation (Doctrine and Covenants 6:9).

I did not see anything about the trinity. It’s a biblical doctrine and is tied to salvation. You can mark in your bible all day long but if you do not accept Christ as lord you will not have the Holy Spirit and will never understand the Bible.

If I have not accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior I wouldn't care to much about scripture marking. 😉
