Great video as always. Learning as much from how you make the video as the content itself.

I use and like the Flying Dutchman. I use the Ultra Reverse from #02 to #9. The #5 I use the most of. The nice thing too is that they have a crimp so you can see which end is the top. But, I am really curious about the Pegas Modified Geometry blades. I think I'm going to get a dozen to try this summer. I have the reverse spiral too, but I can't get used to them. I find them rough cutting. Take care!

Hi Michael, great to hear from you as always. Hope all is well with you and your family. The flying dutchman blades are great. Hegner have got us covered for the correct blade installation because they have the guide on the side of the machine. The modified geometry Pegas blades were nice but the constant slipping in the blade holder was really annoying. Thanks again for sharing the methods you use with everyone. Always great for everyone to get insight into the process used by us all. All the best from us all. 👍👍

Hi, great to hear from you as always. Delighted to hear that the video was useful. We have broken our fair share of blades over the years too. I have added a link below to our website. If you scroll down the page there are lots of different designs and patterns that you are welcome to print off and use. The different designs also have a video that shows the process we used to make each item. www.thelovespoonworkshop.com/scroll-saw-projects/ All is well here, hope all is well with you and your family too. Thanks again for supporting our KZbin channel. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍

How annoying when you rely on a certain make/type, and they suddenly stop making them!!! It happens in every area of life!! thank you for doing this video. I am a beginner - just bought my first (second hand) scroll saw TODAY!!!! It is a bit dirty and rusty so I am cleaning it up just now, and have just worked out how to take out the blade (which was stuck in with dirt). Now I know what size of blade I need, and have ordered a multi pack from Amazon. I have a question: do you use any form of oil to maintain a scroll saw?? A bit like a sewing machine needs a tiny bit of oil now and again?
@DailovespoonsThomas2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken, great to hear from you. Thankfully for ourselves Hegner are still going and they have great support for those using their scroll saws too. In regards to your question it is a good idea to maintain your scroll saw by keeping it oiled to keep it working at its best. We use spray grease on ours and it continues to work well. Thanks again for getting in touch and supporting our KZbin channel. All the very best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍

@@DailovespoonsThomas Thank you so much - I will get some spray grease. I have discovered that my one speed scroll saw that I bought, has an on and off switch but you have to hold it in??? I think it must be broken!!! By the time I change the switch up for a new one, and consider getting some form of speed control for this scroll saw, it would have been cheaper to buy a new one!! The make is PRO - I don't see any YT videos on this model - it is older. I did manage to get the rust off of it though, with WD40 and steel wool - recommended from another KZbinr!!🤪 If nothing else, I will have learned a lot about my scroll saw and rewiring!!

@@kenn1936 sounds like a bit of a challenge to get going but definitely worth the effort for all the different things that can be made on a scroll saw. I use a single speed scroll saw, it does a great job for me. Might be worth looking at a foot pedal if you are changing the on/off switch. Hope you get everything sorted, give me a shout if you have any questions about blades, set up etc. Thanks again for supporting our KZbin channel, all the very best with it all. 👍👍

@@DailovespoonsThomas I have opted for a speed control. I don't think my feet would reach the pedal!! 🤪

I greet you with respect!! As you know, I have a Hegner with a speed variator, for the Niqua speed no. 9 blades, what speed should be set? greater than 800 or less? Thanks for your time ! I work a lot with linden and cherry wood. And the thickness of the wood they use varies between 4mm and 25mm

Hi Gabi, great to hear from you as always. The Hegner scroll saw that I use is single speed so I always cut at the speed the machine is set at. In regards to your variable scroll saw this would be towards the maximum speed of the machine. Thank you again for getting in touch. All the very best from us all. 👍👍

Hi Thanks for making videos I’ve been wanting to try scrolling. I found your videos and I’m convinced I want to buy a scroll saw. I don’t want to buy a cheap one so I’m wondering if you could recommend a good one for around 1,000.00 usd I’ve been looking on the internet and I see the Pegasus the dewalt and the delta could you give me your opinion Thank you Mark

Hi Mark, great to hear from you. Pegas, Dewalt and Delta are all really popular scroll saws and will do a great job for you. My own preference are Hegner scroll saws. I work with a Hegner multicut 2s and have done so for over 20 years. You can often find them second hand on ebay for reasonable prices. My preference when it comes to blades is the Niqua Speed or Niqua Pebecco number 9 reverse tooth blade. Thanks for supporting our KZbin channel. Hope you enjoy your scroll sawing with whichever machine you choose. Let me know if you have any other questions. All the very best from us all. 👍
