I just want to know why you didn't test Flying Dutchman blades. I've been using them for nearly 20 years and feel they do a great job. I just recently got hold of some Pegas blades and for the difficulty I had in obtaining them (shipping to the Philippines), I didn't see enough of a benefit to move away from Flying Dutchman.

First!! Really interesting test there Billy so guessing you'll be sticking with the wild card blade? Can't wait for the next art video. The most bestest and most worstest love it 🤣👍🏴

I want to pick up a #5 crown tooth blade and see how it performs. It's hard not to love the quality of cut.

Good and fair tests. It seems that the acrylic brought scores down for some of the otherwise good scoring blades. For me I think I'd try to narrow down the best for wood individually and the best for plywood individually (or one that best suits both), and then a separate for acrylic if need be. I pretty much only go with whatever crappy Bosch blades I can pick up at Lowes, which aren't great but they do in a pinch for my infrequent scrollsaw needs. Require a lot of cleanup work though and don't last that long.

I'd like to do more testing on specific woods that I use often. There are several ways to go about it.

Interesting experiment, Billy. I don't do that much scroll sawing but if I ever get into it more, I'm going to refer back to this video as a starting point. Bill

Hopefully it can be of some help to people. I know it certainly helped me by allowing me to experience so many different blades.

Forgive me if I missed it as I just found your channel, BUT could you try using an old vinyl record and see how that goes ????

I have been Scrolling for more than six years, watched heaps of videos on the subject I found this is one of the best videos on this subject iI have seen on KZbin . Ps I disagree on the comment re the spiral blades , I do a lot of Scrolling with this type blade I find these good .

I have never used a spiral blade but I thought you need a spiral blade to do amazing work.
Spiral blades require much experience. A skilled person can make the spiral blade look like childs play. Just because you had trouble with the spiral blade does not mean it's a terrible blade, it means you do not have enough experience.

Very informative for a rookie - have seen several videos on blades and this with the comparison and different goods was very interesting - Thank you very, very much - I might never get the skill to use Spiral blades, so now I know to wait with those :D 🪚🛠🪛✂
