Scroll Saw Blades Part 2 - The Numbering System

In this video, I explain the scroll saw blade numbering system.
The numbering system can seem confusing but the main thing to remember is this:
The lower the number, the higher the teeth per inch (TPI).
The higher the number, the lower the TPI.
The lower number blades have more teeth, so they are faster and more accurate for cutting detailed things. The higher number blades have less teeth and are a more robust blade so can handle thicker or harder material.

I just purchased a scroll saw and really don't much about determining which blades are needed for cutting. Thanks for taking the time to help those of us that are just getting started. Really helpful. If I might ask, do you have any advice on which blade is needed for cutting thin metal. Thanks again Mike

Such good advice. Is there an easy and quick way to switch out pinless blades? Or does it depend on the type of scroll saw you have.
