Some of you have asked so we're posting it here. Yes, you can scroll through multiple pedals at the same time. You just need to add more PC Number Scroll messages to the same switch and you can scroll through multiple pedals simultaneously!

It took me 5 minutes to get this working on the Volante, NightSky and Iridium. As there are no screens on these pedals this makes it easy to hear what’s stored at a particular preset location. Great feature and a brilliant implementation. Well done 👍.

Oh jeepers, so much aroha coming your way from Aotearoa NZ. Just picked up an MS3 to help with my weak MIDI game. My simple midi mind was just wanting to change presets on one pedal. But now through this video and the rest you have created my brain is blown, far out. For more than 20 years MIDI was sorcery but now it is fun learning. Heaps of appreciation. Wopila!

Thank you so much for this video. I learned quite alot while I had the editor on the other side of the computer screen.

So slick! I'll add that if you have buttons that go directly to a specific preset you can add a PC Number Scroll with a message type of Update Only to make the number update to the correct number when you go to that preset

Cool. What would be awesome is to be able to have the names of the presets on the MC6 too. This way, working remotely of the processors or computer would not confuse us with obscure numbers. Of course we would have (and love to) write them ourselves and store them in other banks.

Fairly new to Midi and I’m sure I’m overlooking something simple. Set up a page on the Mc6 to scroll through presets of three pedals: Midi channel one - Strymon Volante Midi channel two - Meris Mercury7 Midi channel three - Meris Polymoon I followed the steps in this video and applied the same steps for the Mercury7 and Polymoon while applying the applicable midi channels. I also added Scroll Counters to each pedal… with their number of onboard presets as the max number for each Scroll Counter. When I cycle up or down on the Volante’s Morningstar preset scroll, the numbers on the three pedals presets move in unison. The Mercury7 scroll changes it’s presets, but the number is not showing on the Morningstar. The Polymoon is only working with long scroll as opposed to a single press of the button. I’ve gone over this video a few times and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Any help would be great.

Managed to set up 3 diifferent Strymon pedals with this video. At first presets numbers were changing simultaneouslyvon all of them. (I guess because of midi through ?) So, although the midi message went to the right pedal, it also changed the preset number on the following pedal (but did not engage it). Thus, when you engaged the following pedal, it was not at the same preset which is a bummer. I figured that the Scroll Counter was the same.I assigned a different counter per pedal, now they all change and show the real preset independently. Patience and trial /error are required to use this tool. The purpose of scrolling is to know the exisitng preset numbers so as to create your Playlist /Sounds in Banks. I still haven an issue : continuous scrolling is limited to 2 incerements

Just a note that you have to go to the controller settings page and open the counter page and click save even if you don’t change anything. I missed that step and it wasn’t working but James helped me through email and I now have this working on all of my Strymon pedals.

Great video! Wondering if you can scroll through showing preset NAMES rather than position NUMBERS. The new Strymon Brig has 300 presets, but no screen of its own. So, I would like to name the presets, so I don't have to remember then by number. Thanks!

I’m trying to adjust faders on a mixer via midi (adding a few dB boost to whoever is singing). Since the levels are set to the room, sending predetermined CC messages to the faders won’t work. I’m looking into your CC value scroll message but I’m not finding any resources on that. Is there someway to contact you all?

So if I buy this and run it with my DL 4mk2 I can save all 30 delays and 15 reverb and scroll through them ? And if so could I run 2 delays side by side ? Like run a analog delay at 300ms and a digital at 500 ms ?
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering Жыл бұрын
You can save as many presets as you like. Yes, you can scroll through them using the method shown in this video. Whether or no you can run effects simultaneously within the DL4 MK2 depends on the device itself. As far as we know, it is not a multi effects unit and cannot do that.

I have Source Audio pedals which access presets with cc numbers (not pc). Can a simlar scroll be set up using up/down cc numbers?? thanks

Hi. Which source audio pedals are you referring to? We have a CC Value Scroll message that works the same way but for CC values, not CC numbers.
@SuperBillsykes
@SuperBillsykes Жыл бұрын
thanks. I have a C4 and an Ultrawave. The pedals do not receive pc numbers I believe, unless they are saved to 'scenes' using the Source Audio Neuro Hub. I do have one of these but trying to explore what I can do just with the MC6 editor for now. I'm a bass player, so dont need elaborate Neuro Hub scenes of multiple SA pedals and I find that software clunky to use. Please can you send a link for a video to help navigate through SA presets with CC? @@MorningstarEngineering

@@SuperBillsykes We only have a CC Value Scroll message type and not CC Number Scroll because the latter is rarely needed. Your best workaround would be to use the Preset Message Scroll feature, which we explained in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKW2qWluq8udiZosi=spq62pMpnGz2nMUu

Hi, is there any way to send the PC messages via the PC Number Scroll to my pedals without automatically engaging them? I’d also like to scroll through presets while the pedals are bypassed without turning them on
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering Жыл бұрын
Hi. That would depend on whether your pedal allows you to receive PC messages without automatically being engaged. For eg, the Strymon pedals (TL, BS, MB) work that way. However, there is another workaround for you even if your pedal does not allow that. Just add a Bypass message after the PC Number Scroll message. So each time you press a switch, you will scroll to the next preset and bypass the receiving pedal. That being said... your pedal will be engaging and bypassing constantly this way.
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering Жыл бұрын
depends on the device you are controlling. Some stay bypassed when they receive a PC message (like the timeline) and some don't

@@MorningstarEngineering thank you for the response! Good to know, I'll look into that. Do you know if that applies to the new Strymon V2 pedals as well? I'm trying it on a new Strymon V2 Flint and it's one of the pedals that's automatically engaging whenever I send a PC Number Scroll message.

Hi, I’m trying to use this on a sourceaudio EQ2. If I want to activate preset 1 on the EQ2 I have to send a pc message 0. So now the scroll counter is off sync. Is there a way to correct that?
@MorningstarEngineering
@MorningstarEngineering 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. You can only make them match if your receiving device has a PC number offset feature. Our controllers simply send the PC messages with the PC numbers you program them to send.
