I find it really interesting that the patient with dementia, Mr. Bober, is the same patient that appears in the season 1 finale. That episode was also about JD (and the others) fearing they're becoming jaded and not caring about their patients, but it ultimately ends with them all coning together to do the right thing and get Mr. Bober the surgery he needs. And yet barely two years later, here JD is wishing that same guy they worked so hard to help would just die, which really shows how much his attitude has changed. It's a really easy detail to miss, but it's super cool they put it in there.

Kind of wish Dan did more of this kind of stuff, to show that he does care. Most other episodes involves him doing something like sleeping with Elliot or pranking JD and then when JD gets pissed, the script is turned to make him seem like the villain.
@oVoidhawko3 жыл бұрын
@Patronus88 It fits the characters - JD is still acts like a child in his personal life, while Dan is more adult in his. It encapsulates how growth as a professional, and as a person come about as two separate things.
@SelectiveApathy823 жыл бұрын
Dan was always about good intentions, but that's about it. The number of times he actually DID something nice for JD, 1 or 2. The number of times he did something shitty to JD, at least 9 or 10. And that's not counting the shitty things he did when they were younger. Good intentions alone don't count and don't matter.
@Kinvarus15 жыл бұрын
This is still one of my favourites, Dan was a layabout and not the best brother but he really stepped up as a big brother to Cox and earned Cox's respect for it. Great moment.

Easily one of the best moments in the entire series. I love the strength Dan, the measly bartender, is able to muster to confront Doctor Cox. Such a heartfelt scene. And JD will never know it was him all along.

I'm glad in the end, the narrative and characters acknowledged that Dan was 100% right about this, regardless of what he does for a living himself. As a teenager, I thought the "rum and coke" comment was hilarious, but as an adult that had to watch this exact shit happen to a family member, it's a bit more poignant.

@@hardwirecars many people had bad things to say about Trump before he ran for office. Many people talked about how he was nothing more than a racist sexist con artist. I don't buy that Cox would take to heart what silly-goose Dan has to say. Cox is set in his ways. It's not like Dan drops a mountain of profound knowledge on him.
@paveesfox3754 жыл бұрын
Cox tends to respect people consistently that straight dismiss him over family or doing the right thing. It's shown several times that cox is harder on JD because he even admits he saw alot of himself and in a way cox dislikes he changed from who he used to be and when he shows signs of returning to that, he shows distress
@michaelsong55554 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Cox was getting worn out too. And subconsciously, he was resenting at least some portions of his work. But Dan's words really touched his heart, and it probably affected Cox more than he'd like to admit.
