The mishra combo, for those who dont know, is that if an artifact spell doesnt resolve, through effects such as the blood funnel counter, possibility storm, or even a simple counterspell, mishra will grab the card and put it onto the battlefield anyway, assuming it doesnt go to exile or the battlefield. So with mishra, blood funnel is just a flat 2 mana cost reduction for artifacts. Thank you for having me, its great to be here.

Here's the Mishra combo: Mishra + Nether Void. You never pay the tax of Nether Void so your spell is countered. Then Mishra triggers putting the artifact spell into play from your graveyard or searching up an extra copy from your deck all the while Nether Void is making your opponent's spells cost 3 more or else it's countered. This also works with Blood Funnel where the artifacts you are trying to cast are cheaper because of Blood Funnel but you let them get countered by not sacrificing a creature and then Mishra gets the artifact back from the graveyard with the trigger.
@Gemini476 Жыл бұрын
It's a year past Wheeler's 2012 end date, but Dragons Maze's _Possibility Storm_ is another iconic Mishra Commander Deck combo - you cast your Mishra's Bauble etc., Possibility Storm cascades you into another artifact and puts the bauble into your library, then Mishra lets you search your library for the bauble and put it onto the battlefield.
@alexwayne2581 Жыл бұрын
this is missing the important line on mishra that it can get the same copy from thegraveyard or library
@JagannathMxO Жыл бұрын
@@alexwayne2581 Can't you order your triggers so that it's in the graveyard before the search effect goes off?
@alexwayne2581 Жыл бұрын
@@JagannathMxO yes you can, it makes mishra really cool for commander because you don't have the option to get another copy from the deck so you get your spell countered or something similar where it doesn't end up on the battlefield then you can put it into play with mishra

Thank you for having me Doctors LRR, it's great to be here. The two major combos with Mishra are either Blood Funnel (which counters the artifact so Mishra can just grab the artifact from the bin, making artifacts cost two less) or Possibility Storm (which cascades into another free artifact, then places the initial one on the bottom of the library so Mishra can grab it).

Thanks for having me, it *is* great to be here! When I saw the title of the episode I though there'd also be a black box over everything below the art box at first, so they'd have to guess all the hidden stuff (before then *also* talking about the card). For anyone at home (who doesn't have a dedicated Canadian comedian on tech) and wants to try getting a random scryfall card with everything hidden to test your own skills: An easy way to do this is to just resize the browser window to hide everything below the art and everything to the right of the card (so you don't see the oracle text), then use the browser's back button to get back to the front page of scryfall and press the random button. When on a card page you can toggle between "Maximize" and "Restore Down" to easily reveal and hide for the next card. I've played or at least followed Magic since Homelands and I use this part of my brain [*gestures* *wildly* *with* *both* *hands* *to* *indicate* *my* *whole* *head*] to memorize cards, but man are there a lot of non-memorable ones to find when you hit random!

I think Nelson's Shared Fate/Psychic Possession combo is worse than do nothing: Psychic Possession skips your draw step, then Shared Fate replaces all of your opponent's draws with exiles off of an opponent's library, which means that the second clause of Psychic Possession that lets you draw cards never happens, so the combo is "you never get to draw a card again, and your opponent gets to play your deck"
@Gemini476 Жыл бұрын
Shared Fate/Leveller _is_ a bit of a combo, though, albeit a weird and probably kind of bad one. You get to play your opponent's deck while they get to stare at your empty library and cry a bit.
@TheRealWormbo Жыл бұрын
The idea with Leveler and Shared Fate is that neither player actually draws cards anymore, but instead uses cards from their opponent's library. If that opponent (i.e. you) played a Leveler, the player who wanted to "draw" cards has nothing to draw from. It doesn't lose them the game, but they don't get any new cards to play either, while you still grab cards from your opponent's library. Psychic Possession is bad in either context, though.

Mishra + Blood funnel + reading Mishra (it says graveyard). Then, the rest of the deck is cool cards like Golem Foundry, Summoning Station Combo, and other eggs, also affinity creatures. Ideal commander combo is mycosynth lattice + KCI

You stack the triggers with blood funnel or any "when you cast X counter it" permanent so Mishra resolves second, then search your graveyard for your newly countered spell, cheating it out. This lets you get around possibility storm, blood funnel, dovescape, etc. while still getting their benefits.

My favorite thing about vampire charmseeker is that in a 4 player game of magic you and another player can split it's cost, to return a removal spell in a third player's graveyard, which they then pay for to remove the fourth player's threat. So everyone ends up paying mana into killing the thing.

I remember a cool deck concept with shared fate was to play no ways to win the game (only removal spells, counters, board wipes, etc)so once you resolved it your opponent couldn't win while you got to win with their cards. Mishra can get cards from the graveyard, library or exile so he lets you avoid sacrificing creatures for blood funnel but also works with things like possibility storm or nether void of you want to be really mean in commander.
@mattperkinson9604 Жыл бұрын
The combo with Mishra and Blood Funnel is that you let the funnel counter your spells before the Mishra trigger resolves, then search your graveyard and find the card you just countered (which has the same name as itself) and put that into play, making all of your noncreature artifact spells (2) cheaper and essentially uncounterable.

I had Psychic Possession in my Damia, Sage of Stone deck and I have to say it's an underestimated card.
