At night the drug planes fly very close to the shore and drop either large waterproof sealed packages or drums of drugs. The ground crew retrieve and take them away. The pilot crashes near the shore and swims in. The loss of the planes are just a cost of doing business. Pretty simple. ..... If the officials are not paid off properly and open fire, the plane goes down and the cargo is -possibly- lost. The loss is easily made up by the many, many other drops that are incredibly profitable. But I'm sure this is common knowledge, though Jake glosses ove the possibilities. Safer and more convenient that way I'm sure.
