It is amazing how similar a balanced diaphragm 1st stages are from brand to brand. This is almost exactly the same as a Mares. What do you use in your ultrasonic bath? Some manuals instruct not to put plastic parts in acid baths.

For regular cleaning, try 1/4 vinegar and 3/4 water. For heavy duty cleaning, I use Biox.

In one of the diving forums I was asked a question and I thought I’d share my answer for the benefit of others. Question: Looking forward to the other videos. The threads on the environmental cap and diaphragm clamp seemed dry and sticking coming apart. Is that normal? Answer: Hi, yes, will publish more vids. Subs to my KZbin channel and to get notified when they come out. The Environmental Cap and Diaphragm Clamp are not the easiest to unscrew even when new. It gets harder when the reg is heavily used in salt water. When screwing them in, they need to be tightened to a point where there is a “metal to metal” contact to ensure a proper seal. They require special tools, a C-Spanner and a 32/34mm Wrench to work with. Over time, micro salt deposits will find their way into the grooves even if the first stage is rinsed (never soaked unless pressurized) carefully in fresh water. It is not uncommon for technicians to use a bit of controlled brute force to unscrew the Cap and Clamp by using a hammer to deliver a few sharp blows on the handle of the Spanner or Wrench to break the salt encrustment. I don’t grease the threads with silicon and I don’t think it helps as dirt will accumulate and make it harder to unscrew during maintenance.

The 2nd stage was all the way open correct when testing IP Pressure correct? The adjustment on the 2nd was all the way backed off correct?

Hello, thank you for watching and for your comments. The Tank should be fully opened when testing the IP. A working second stage should be connected to the first stage when testing the IP of the first stage. By "adjustment on the 2nd" if what you mean is the venturi adjustment on the 2nd stage, it shouldn't matter although you can turn the venturi to full + or full -. What matters is the reading on the IP gauge. Should be between 9 to 10 bar. Hope this helps.

Hello i have got problems to release the upper cup ( the one with the transparent membrane) of the first stage and the lower hex both on the first stage. Both are too tight. Cause according to the signs on the parts the guy that tighten it was a little bit too strong ( strong as a bull and almost so clever🤨). Any tips that coud help to release it?

Hi, if you don't have a bench vise, you can try to connect the first stage to a scuba tank, then use the spanner to gently unscrew the cap. I hope this helps.
