Awesome. I have been an aircraft mechanic for almost 40 years, and I agree with you. Don't attempt this at home unless you are trained and qualified. I WILL be taking your courses this summer. See you then

Hello again Angel. I hope that I am not intruding on your work here, but may I ask a question. On earlier Atomic piston regs were the stainless steel washer, o ring and teflon packing not used? I think that maybe just an o ring is all that is there, placed into a groove inside the body? A body that I have here does not appear to have the three pieces, just an o ring. I believe that Scubapro used to have this type of arrangement but they also changed to a three piece system? Any info would be more than appreciated.
@scubatechkeylargo2 жыл бұрын
Hey no worries I encourage question & comments. Scubapro MK 5 & MK 10 only used single o-ring in a groove, current day models have 3 pieces, bushing/o-ring/back-up ring. Atomic, as far I know always used 3 pieces, Teflon back-up ring/o-ring/SS retainer. Early model Atomics used a green o-ring, which currently it's black with a white dot. /Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.

@@scubatechkeylargo Thanks for the reply Angel. Yes, there is an o ring with a white dot on it. I will attempt to get an image of the inside of the body.

Great video thank you. I rebuilt an M1 it locks at 125 and slowly drifts up to 140 but stays there and doesn’t move beyond that. Thoughts? Thank you! MB
@scubatechkeylargo4 ай бұрын
125 to 150 is the acceptable range… slow drift is common Cycling the first such as turn off supply pressure purging and back on. Repeatedly cycling pressure will create a impression on the piston seat and should lock up IP.

Hi, excellent video!! This is the same process for T3 1st stage regulator? and I want to fill the 1st stage with christolube, but can I use it with out the lube? and it was serviced by a technician but I'm not sure about it, because he did not know about the grease that was inside, so he told me that it works with no problem, but he took out the large rubber seal and said to don't put it back so feel unconfent about it. I will go diving and as soon as I can I want to fill with the christolube. so it is ok to diving with out it? and the last question, once you change all the o-rings and everything do you need to pressurize the 1st stage? how do you do that? excuse me for so many questions , but I'm in Mexico and have not good technicians !!!
@scubatechkeylargo Жыл бұрын
Yes, the service is the same for all Atomic 1st stages. Atomic 1st stages can be used with or without Christo Lube. The rubber seal with holes is used without Christo Lube, the solid rubber seal is with lube. I pressurize the 1st stage using a scuba tank that sends air to my bench. Thanks for the questions & for watching my channel.

I have a new St1 and there's a bunch of white grease or silicone coming from underneath the rubber part(it has >4 C sign on it) between high pressure and low pressure parts. Is that normal?
@scubatechkeylargo Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the Cristo lube ( nitrox safe lube )from inside the piston area. The ST1 first stage is sealed with Cristo lube for an environmental seal. It's normal to see some spill out around the edge of band, that should stop once the excess lube is wiped away. Thanks for the question.

Wouldn't the stainless steel basket of the ultrasonic cleaner scratch the 1st stages?
@scubatechkeylargo Жыл бұрын
No damage to the parts from the SS baskets, the weave is soft to the point I can squeeze with my hands and collapse it.

What would you do different to Oxygen clean it?
@scubatechkeylargo2 жыл бұрын
Oxygen cleaning is a process to remove contaminates such silicone grease and hydrocarbons. Soaking & brushing the parts in a bath of Simple Green, Blue Gold and Dawn soap are the most popular degreasers. This would be after the ultrasonic cleaning, and then assemble parts wearing nylon gloves as not to contaminate.

Question : Can the first Stage can be filled with Christolube for making the Regulator ready for Coldwater Diving ??
@scubatechkeylargo Жыл бұрын
yes, Atomic supplies the ST1 and T3 with sealed 1st stage packed with christo lube. You can also seal any of the Atomic 1st stages utilizing a solid band. It’s takes about 2oz of lube to fill.
