As an assist to using cloth as a texture plate, you can get the fabric wet (using water, not alcohol) and it will help release it from the clay. Alcohol would have the exact opposite effect, so if you wanted to include cloth but have it behave like clay, you could do it that way to get the cloth totally permeated with clay.

Another top notch vid. You've given me some new ideas for texture stamps; I haven't used any yet, but I have plans for them in the future.

I am really enjoying your lessons. I appreciate you taking the time to build and edit these helpful videos. I wish I had these in art class back in high school, my life may have been more art less I.T. I'm so glad my children are growing up with so much content to pull ideas and lessons from. It is second nature for them to go to youtube for instructions. Keep up the great work.

Outstanding. Josh do you ever use oil based clay so as to cast a piece? Or do you try to preserve the ones you want to keep with this clay?
@JoshForeman2 жыл бұрын
I have not worked seriously with oil clays, no.

@@JoshForeman Have you any vids of your baked end results? I was toying with the idea of oil but I'm now thinking of following your fab tutorials with polymer. Just wondering on finish.
