+Mr. VonMeister sometimes +Jake Corrick stops by to answer questions like this, fingers crossed!! But I imagine that the foil underneath the sculpey makes it easy to lift it from the pipe as the foil would not stick to the pipe

that was SUPER helpful. The alcohol and just your process in itself was helpful. I just finished my first sculpture and was wondering about baking. I got so much more from your video. Thanks.
@curiosityinc9549 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) yours is one of the only videos that actually shows what some of these tools do texture-wise rather than people showing what's in their tool box and saying what it does rather than showing. Also the foil is a great idea, was worried I was going to have to make my big project out of one large, thick piece of clay.

I have been using Sculpy ever since I was introduced to it briefly in a college art class. Over the last 16 years I have been slowly building my skills on my own. Never once did I ever think to pop online and take a peak at how other's do it. I learned some very valuable things from this as well as validated some of the techniques you shared that I learned on my own. Very cool. Thank you!

Hi Jake. Thank you for sharing your amazing work and explaining your process so well. I really enjoyed watching this video and I gained a lot from it, especially how you build durable custom rake tools and also reinforcing how the detailing work should be a continuation of the underlying form already established in the beginning. I'm looking forward to applying your techniques to my future creations.

Just adding this since it has come up a few times: The base is removable after baking. I use the same setup that I have had for years for nearly all of the busts I do in this scale. Once everything is baked, and if you were careful to not put too much sculpey at the bottom between where the sculpture meets the pipe, you can slowly spin and lift your piece off, and the excess armature wire can be snipped at the bottom. Good luck everyone, thanks so much for watching this. hope it is helping. I plan to do another video covering painting techniques, and maybe one for a full body figure if people are interested!

Great tips Jake!! I would really like to see an extension of this video of what it looked like after you baked it and the painting process!! Great Vid!! I have a stupid question...what kind of eyes do you use? Is there a possibility of these objects melting during the baking process??
@jakecorricksculpture9 жыл бұрын
+Mokie R Thank you! hoping to do a paint process tutorial soon. You can absolutely melt the eyes in the oven, but Sculpey bakes at a low enough temperature that it is never normally a problem. I prefer to bake my sculptures low and slow so that I never have to worry.
