I love that you did separate videos for each facial feature with great explanations. Usually when someone does this they do not make it on a head. They sculpt it by itself. This shows each feature and how it relates to the rest of the face which is very helpful. Something you might want to consider; rapid flashing of pictures can induce seizure or migraine.

I have to say, you are genuinely one of the best teachers I've seen on here. You're not boring (you have an excellent sense of humor that never ceases to make me chuckle), so I don't feel like falling asleep half-way through your videos and forgetting everything-- and you make thing so simple to understand! (Meaning that I don't have to pull out my trusty dictionary for every 4th word you say because I have no idea what you're spouting out, so therefore I have no idea what's even going on) You, sir, have earned a new subscriber! I bid thee farewell (or however it goes), and hope that I can see more quality content like this!

You are TOTALLY not boring...thank goodness for that and yet your teachings shine. Thank you so much. Been doing painting with all mediums and doing wood carvings for years and years. Sculpting however, is a whole different ball game for me. While I know how to carve wood styling with clay, to me, is mind boggling. You're helping me to get a better insight into the art. Thank you O sculpting Bwana!

I think because of a brain injury when I was 6, I've been challenged all my life with an inability to 'see' in 3D in my mind. Your chilled approach to this is really helping me to overcome it. I just love the simplicity of how to get the mass right first and foremost - so cool, so excited, so let's get to it and I'll share my results if you're still out there. Thank you Josh.

Fantastic way you make all of it relatable, Josh, like saying those shapers are "like little fingers" and all that... never looked at them that way before and it makes a big difference in the way you approach those tools. Absolutley fantastic.

Decided to take sculpting up as a hobby just to pass time, and your videos are probably the best i have seen, others seem to use too much timelapse with little instruction, or over complicated techniques, where yours are simple and basic with the same outcome!

Josh Foreman I am so glad I came across those videos ...i am so interested to learn sculpting and these videos are gonna help me so so much...i have a few questions though...After a session of sculpting how do I prevent the clay from drying out? How long will it stay workable? Do you bake inbetween before finishing the piece? Especially if it has thicker parts and tiny fingers ? I would be very happy if you'd answer me those questions...love from Germany! Thanks for your effort to educate us on this!
@JoshForeman6 жыл бұрын
Glad you're giving it a go! 1. Polymer clay like Super Sculpey do not dry out. At least not for years. I still have pieces I work on from a decade ago. 2. As long as you don't have a piece that's thicker than 2 centimeters (That's why you have a foil core) it's fine to have thin pieces in there as well. Follow the directions on the container, but if you have thick areas bake the piece about 10 degrees lower, but 20 minutes longer. Your thin pieces may become darker, but as long as you don't exceed the temperature listed they shouldn't burn.

Love your videos!! Any tips on reviving dried out sculpey firm? Also, where can I get that anatomy reference figure you have in the back?
@JoshForeman8 жыл бұрын
I can't find the exact one I have, but here's one like it. www.amazon.com/Male-Anatomy-Figure-Anatomical-Reference/dp/B00UBYHWKQ/ref=pd_bxgy_201_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=WDZ3KHXS2VGHQBJAV4GZ As far as reviving your clay, they sell Sculpey softener liquid. But I've never had good luck with that. I'd just buy fresh clay if you can afford it. It would only be a couple more dollars than the softener.
