I would be onterested to know if the proprtions/ratios for african faces would be different? Especially in relation to the nose and mouth, and how these widths would relate proportionally to the placement/size of the eyes

Very impressive work of art for a minute that face looked like clint Eastwood except he doesn't have a dimple chin but the features sorta like giving me the stink eye lol love it

I really enjoyed this but I have a Question? What is it you are doing when you scrape with that tool? You don"t seem to be taking any away only kind of moving it around........It looks a Mess at times and then you have a way of smoothing it out. Where are you putting that extra Clay? Sorry if I can't Figure that out... Thanks for that great Face!
@BeginnersSchool6 жыл бұрын
This particular clay is very soft and collects on the tool, so I am smoothing, shaping and taking a small amount of clay away using the flat edge of the tool. I also use my fingers for smoothing the tool marks. You can keep a little pile of the clay you've scraped off to use in other pieces. Hope this helps! -Kent Kidwell

Plz reply does it cracked after drying.....?
@BeginnersSchool5 жыл бұрын
It will not crack because this type of clay does not dry.

@@BeginnersSchool i had made a sculpture on a ply wood..... But after drying it got so many crackes
@BeginnersSchool5 жыл бұрын
@@adityaverma9128 Sorry to hear that! It is likely to happen, however, if you're using regular, ceramic clay. The plywood is soaking the moisture out of your water-based clay, contributing to cracks. Are you covering the clay loosely with plastic as it dries? The slower it dries, the more likely you can avoid cracks. Also sculpting hollow versus solid will also help. We recommend using oil-based clay (that's what is being used in the video) because it won't crack and you can continue working on it forever.

Hi just wondering. What clay do u use? Thx
@BeginnersSchool7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jack, We are using oil-based clay. You can read more about the specifics on our website here: www.beginnersschool.com/2015/05/04/sculpture-essentials/ Happy creating! The Beginner's School

@BeginnersSchool6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, we don't have any videos about painting completed sculptures at this time as Kent usually casts his sculptures in bronze upon completion. But we will remember your question and add it to our list of suggestions for future videos!
