Scunthorpe United 1-1 Peterborough Sports

First home game of the season, Peterborough Sports being the visitors. Plenty of fans thinking we were going to be victorious. If it wasn’t for a missed penalty and a hatful of chances, they’d have been correct. Final result being 1-1. When you miss the chances we had and a keeper in fine form, then it always leaves that glimmer of hope for the opposition. So after taking a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd half and entering the final 10 minutes. Last thing you want to be doing is leaving a free header in the box, for Gash to head back across goal and them to get the equaliser. Not like it was the only chance they had either. They definitely left the happier of the two teams. Gave the 52 Sports fans something to cheer about.
Team has to regroup, put into practice what they’re learning on the training pitch and take the chances created. Luckily we go again on Tuesday night against Darlington.
Hopefully the grass will have been cut as well 😉

Take the positives, unbeaten in 2. If you expect to win every game, you will get disappointment. Average 2pts per game over the season and you'll be in the mix. Good luck

Another great vlog Gareth. Good to see you yesterday. In my opinion it was a reasonable game with plenty of possession held by Scunthorpe. However, the end product definitely needs working at, but don't take it away from Sports because they defended resolutely. I never dreamed in a month of Sundays that I would be reading the matchday programme on a mobile phone. As a programme collector it's disappointing, but it would appear that more clubs are doing this these days. Anyway, good luck on Tuesday night and I should be back at GP in October.

Certainly an improvement from the last few seasons, but came away very frustrated and so underwhelmed from a game we dominated and should have won. We looked dangerous on the counter, breaking with some good speed Indecisiveness cost us too many changes, trying to play the killer pass.. maybe a result that will make the squad realise that every team we play this season will be playing like it's their cup final We need to play like its OURS UTI

I am a Peterborough United fan based in Lincolnshire , Peterborough Sports have been around under many names since the early 1900s , mainly just as a local factory side , just like your big local company . I think it was Brotherhoods attracted good local players but more or less a good to very good Sunday league team jumping into the Non league scene . But in more recent times have started to become a team who can punch well above there weight . So No surprise when they pinch results , there are some decent players in that squad and there moving onwards .Good luck to both of you for the rest of the season.

Unbeaten start. Building match fitness PS seemed organised and well motivated. It seems like they rode their luck? Honestly, case of ‘don’t panic’. I know it’s a cliche but marathon not a sprint. Stick together Scunny

Every team coming to Glanford Park are going to play like that from keepers having a stormer, defenders defending for their lives, midfielder running their hearts out and strikers taking their chances because in this league Scunny are massive and this is the biggest game of their careers for most opposition players this year. We have the players with the talent to do will now and need to put teams like this to the sword and get on a winning run and build confidence. I’ll be back again Tuesday to see us batter the hell out of Darlington
