Bro!!! That came out sick!!!! I like that you used old furniture for the sub structure. Adding concrete dye is one way to add color, but my favorite way is to use liquid and granular Iron-ite for lawns. Spray the concrete down with the liquid and sprinkle the granular all over. It will rust in streaks. It will look like sand stone in Moab. Great job bro!!!🤘🤘🤘

Looks awesome, one tip for the next time you can use wire mesh over the wood and when you apply the concretes stays there the mesh holds it together. Just over the wood it will crack eventually and may if even fall off on some sections. 👍👍

Yessir! I was thinking of you all day when I was making this. Although it costs a lot of sweat, this is one of the most fun surfaces I’ve played on. I’ll have to talk about it in a video but it “slips to grip” in a way that can be so smooth and satisfying to watch. It’s worth the effort!
@sammyboswelldirtybrc75802 жыл бұрын
That’s awesome bro they make a chalk like die that u can mix in the concrete to change the color of it before it sets and it will stay love the mountain looks really awesome 👏 🔥🔥😎👍
@texomarc2 жыл бұрын
Yessir. You can color the concrete but it’s going to be uniform. I’ll prolly end up just staining it. The acrylic works great if there’s no direct sunlight be it’s going to fade pretty fast without protection. I sure appreciate you brother! Hope you have a great one.

Turned out great. Hope you found a cool day to work in, understand you've been having a few hot spells. New axles are out, you were right. They are wider, 4mm per side. Not cheap. But they are fully built and ready to go. The rear runs 16t while the front is 13t.
@texomarc2 жыл бұрын
Yessir! I talked to Jeff from injora and he said they should be shipping with brass parts installed instead of the aluminum in a few weeks. They also need cvds. Not cheap? Hardly more expensive than stock! When I built the range it was over a hundred plus the heat index. A little sweat is a good thing, my guy! Lol. Hope you have a great weekend, buddy.
@Hi_Doctor_Nick2 жыл бұрын
@@texomarc I was just about to order from them, its in my cart. I'll wait a couple of weeks then. Thanks for the heads up 👍 When I mean not cheap, I'm comparing it to a normal metal axle housing, but then your able to swap over the internals from the stock housing. Once you price up all the bearings, gears, shafts and steering links it not all that bad. I like the fact they offer them as single or pairs. I was going for the twin steering axle set for a 4WS setup. I got a Fly Sky GT5 which will be brilliant for this.
@texomarc2 жыл бұрын
@@Hi_Doctor_Nick Yessir! I think that’s what I’m going to do as well. However, I wouldn’t want all the brass in the rear. I may send Jeff another message and just give him a heads up and maybe they can offer it that way? One with brass and overdrive with one that’s aluminum and standard? Or you can just swap the gear yourself.

Sir love the info. How did you color it. Keep up the good work bro
@texomarc2 жыл бұрын
Cheap acrylic paints mixed in a spray bottle with water. Works best not to get in a hurry and plan on doing multiple (many) coats. A bug sprayer would save squeezes. I’d error on too little paint than too much. Easy to add more. Proly somewhere between 8-12:1 (water:paint). Just spray it down, let it dry and repeat. Can very between light and dark, thick and thin coats to get different effects/coloring. I made it up as I went, so… thanks for hanging out brother! Any other questions, hit me up on insta or Joshua Darrel Ratliff on Facebook. Hope you have a great one.

When you say mix in sand do you mean like dirt if your soil is sandy or what kind of sand?
@texomarc2 жыл бұрын
Sand mix. It’s sackcrete. Comes in a 60lbs bag. You certainly could just get some cement and use sand but I haven’t done that. It was the white and green bag. It’s the same as the quikcrete, it just has sand instead of the gravel. Hope that helps! Have a great weekend bro!
