Are E bikes are taking over UK green lanes

Greenlaning has become a big part of this channel, and the more Byways I ride, the more electric bikes I come across. I really like the concept of them so I wanted to ride a few lanes on the KTM and talk about my thoughts on all thing's electric bikes. Are Surron bikes taking over the world of dirt biking or more specifically green laning? I'm not sure but all electric motorbikes are definitely going to be a big thing, very soon. We seem to follow America and they are all over the place there, so will moto cross change forever?

I have a Surron and my son has a KTM SX-E2 absolutely amazing little bike for kids to learn on then as their abilities increase. You can change the modes it has 3 different speed settings. Awesome build quality on it for such a small bike. I would love to get into green laning though. Really enjoy your content 👍

Ah brilliant, I can't wait to get my boy one but he's just a bit too small 😁 green laning is great fun but definitely not as exciting as mx or enduro. I love it though, and I'm glad you like the videos 👍👍

How old is he? I got my son an electric quadbike 1st ACDC Stomp they are brilliant for younger ones you can literally walk along with them and grab the brake it kills the throttle so really safe he wasusing that from 2yrs old. Yh MX and enduro are so much fun. But green laning is a little safer 🤣

Yep, the green lanes are perfect for it as they are so secluded. It's anoying and scummy but what can we do 🙄

As much as I want to green lane, there's not enough routes. Electric MTB is where I'll end up. There are loads of trail centres and bridleways. The 90s were tricky as people hated MTBs off road but people got over it.

I agree that it's another avenue to getting into biking/enduro/greenlane-ing, it was for me! I started off with a surron and got hooked, went though all the power mods, then got the ultra bee for better suspension and more or the MX feel. That was a few years ago, I just recently got my bike licence and a 350 exc-f and love hitting up the green lanes.

Ah nice one mate, I've been looking at the surron just to have a play with. Would you recommend a better one to try? I do love the green laning, it's just a good way to get out and get Muddy y with not too much effort.

Stick with proper bikes, people in the UK love to get fucked over by the government and do fuck all about it but kick up a stink about bikers minding there own business, electrics just another way for them to control you by limiting the charging

@@DITLO58I’m from south wales the green lanes can go from easy to extreme real quick I tried one before on the surron because they are so light it’s difficult to get traction on steep climbs 😂 the electric dirt bikes look awesome 👍🏻

Acerbic ones full wraparound the branch accident happened on my 250 sx when I was doing enduro same here I came from a mx background 👍👍

Electric bikes won’t make a difference about tracks closing down, We had an electric bike Park start up near us. They had one track day still got noise complaints and had to close down. People may have you believe electric is the way forward when in fact they are a means to the end. Don’t believe or promote the electric hype.

🤣🤣 You make it should like I'm promoting e bikes. I love the noise of a two stoke and hope they never die out. But if e bikes give not so fortunate people an opertunity to ride and have fun without anoying people then I'm all for everyone being happy 👍👍

@@DITLO58 I'm with you mate. I ride a 500 four stroke myself and I have often wondered about trying an ebike for the noise benefits. I don't think I would enjoy it enough to buy one though. i would however much prefer riding behind an ebike than a ring ding dinga ding bike especially if its a proper smoker. 😆

You say 2 strokes as if 4 strokes are quiet. Most 4 stroke bikes on the lanes are racing 4 strokes and very loud just a different loud.

I've had lots of offroad bikes and currently have a CT125 for riding to work on and riding some easy green lanes. I still miss riding the odd enduro event but don't miss the ownership experience, the noise, expense and maintenance work. As I'm looking to buy or rent a small plot of mixed land of a few acres i can see myself buying an Ultra Bee to have some fun without annoying anyone.
