Absolutely the new one, hands down. When they summon him, the lighting goes all dramatic and whatnot, the metallic paint looks exactly like that! What a cool release.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel Shenron's body should have been engineered like a Monsterarts tail is with lots of joints. I know he really only poses one way in the manga and anime but having a body with that level of range would give a greater level of poseability on a shelf.

i was actually thinking the same thing, i thought it would’ve been a great opportunity to give MonsterArts to make a Shenron figure because how their tail designs are for majority of the kaiju monsters they make. hell, it’ll be even easy for them because Shenron is just a snake like dragon

A lot of people hate on this figure, but I really like it and its my centerpiece of my display. Being as I already have the original theres really no reason for me to get this new one.. I personally like the look of the old one I think as well and It does suck that this one is priced at $130 when the original was $100 retail and regularly on discount.

@@malcolmgreene8830 uh…my point was that of course the dragon was scared of Beerus. Beerus is the God of Destruction. The dragon is no where near as strong as a god. Considering he is a construct of the being that split into Kami and Piccolo. In other words, my comment was in response to your comment about him being scared and a force of nature. Yes, of course he was scared, and no he was never a force of nature

@@Wolfie1262 and my point to you was they made somebody up after all these years of the Dragon being a powerful entity in its own right which I'm guessing you don't count granting wishes as a powerful ability beerus was recently made while Shenron and His Kind was shown to be a force of nature again if you are not going to honor GT which actually show the black dragon balls being able to fight such as Omega Shenron🤦🏽‍♂️

I like having a consistent scale across figures but i dont care if the scale is not accurate for big characters as long as they are noticeably larger than smaller characters. For example if we got a new one piece line i wouldn't want doflamingo (10ft) to be actual scale lmao.

It would take a while to do adding some shading to the scales, stomach, eyes etc would make the original look fantastic. Pretty new to figure arts collecting so probably me a miss for me at the moment

My new SDCC one just arrived! It was definitely tricky to assemble, as they put his lower arms on backwards. Luckily I was able to swap them around without breaking a joint. (This is one fragile dragon) overall a great piece but like he said not very poseable I’d say it’s only worth $100 only but Shenrons hard to come by so I had to splurge a bit 🐉

The arms aren't on backwards. They're posed backwards in the package. You just need to rotate them. Unless you're was double backwards i guess

His name was always Shen Long, it's just the English dub being weird and changing names for no real reason. I mean, changing an "L" to an "R" seems real pointless, don't you think?

While there is neither in Japanese the name specifically comes from Chinese as Dragon Ball was based on Journey to the West originally, the Dragon Balls themselves are named in Chinese rather than Japanese as the dragon itself is

I'm more disappointed about ape vegeta being too small than the dragon. And the dragon would've been better as a more hollow build a figure with each figure coming with an extension piece allowing it to be bigger and more articulated.

The new metalic shenron dragon balls look more like eggs. I’m not feeling the figure. Some wash might have helped the metallic figure but i guess that would defeat the purpose of something metallic and shiny.
