Thanks for this, really happy to see you using pfsense and it having bridge mode! All my questions answered. I'm considering this as we a semi rural area with no firm date for FTTP, and have just discovered that my home office (in the gaden) has 5G, I can get ca. 200Mb in there if I hold my iPhone up high. Pricey but seems to tick lots of boxes.

As a Canadian, I'm wincing at the concept of automatic fall-over from the normal fiber optic ISP to a 'mobile' 5G carrier. Imagine a fault develops in the fiber, and the first clue is the 'mobile' data phone bill which (in Canada) could be greater than the GDP of Switzerland. They don't make paper that wide. We've had 5G mobile plans that would go into Data Overage is mere seconds at 5G speeds, and could cost $10,000 per minute thereafter. Sigh, Canada, home of the world's worst mobile data providers.

Hi there. Great video. I have a question (as you seem to be pretty clued up!) I have purchased a ZTE MC7010 to use through the THREE network. The firmware is H3G_GB_MC7010DV1.0.0BG09 - apparently the latest. When I plug my sim card into the 7010, it connects to 5g and I get 250Mbps (directly out of the ethernet cable into my laptop) BUT, when I insert the same SIM card into my Samsung Galaxy A73 5g and place it in the exact same position, I’m getting more than DOUBLE the speed. (I have line of sight of the mast) Any idea why this is?

Negotiated connection is excellent and signal strength as well as SINR is great but 5g is dead. Various masts, 3sims later, different APNs.... Nope, 4g only. 5g was fine just for a short time. @@sdgelectronics it was running on the latest firmware since day 1 (abuv8. C0 or sth like that). I have not tried the latest module firmware though as many people reported it made the things even worse and the speeds fall drastically with it. I read that Zyxel took this device off market in Germany at some point as it wasn't working properly with one operator. They fixed it later with newer firmware though, but this may indicate incompatibility with some operators in different countries with how the ISP provides the service. Can't say how Three in the UK provides the service in different parts of the country, whether it varies based on different infrastructure elements in particular locations or is the same everywhere, but sth is not entirely compatible with this device and Three resulting in problems in my case as well as many others (with the indoor version nr5103). Honestly I am out of ideas how to solve this
