You made a really nice looking set of festive decorations! Have you though of comparing notes with David Plummer @DavesGarage about driving strings of addressable LEDs? He seems very passionate about the topic and he worked extensively on it.

It's great when you can build something yourself and eliminate the "planned obsolescence" or "designed to a price point" that plagues any consumer products you can buy. Plus, gain the benefit of being able to configure it exactly to your own liking. Great job.

If you had enough of these and hung them basically touching each other is it possible to turn it into some sort of LED matrix display, with scrolling text etc.

A few years ago I decided to do the same thing, as the Chinese ones last a winter at best, mine were based around the 328P-AU MCUs when they were about a quid each ! suffice to say the price went mental and they never got past KICAD. Awesome design and a Merry Christmas to you and yours !

Resonators definitely don't like ultrasonic cleaning. We have made a couple of thousand identical products. We get resonator failures with ultrasound. We have moved to using our ultrasonic as a heated bath - no ultrasound.

Always makes me roll my eyes how those with golden ears think butchering something designed by people who know what they're doing with mods recommended by those without a clue will improve a product. I'm surprised you didn't take the opportunity to fit a gold-plated mains plug, as these have been "proven" to improve the sound so many times in the audiophool world...

So I just purchased one of these right before learning about the T413. I am seriously considering returning the T320 when it arrives, or maybe re selling because I am not confident that attempting a return through ali express is wise. Would you go through the trouble to get the T413 over this? Seems like they are a little hard to come by in a 110v configuration. *edit, canceled the order and bought a T420d with 2 handpieces.
@davidlong17866 күн бұрын
Well people would be wise to avoid buying these on the second hand market. Using that glue was plain stupid. Board damage has been known for decades now from glue gone conductive. Not having any sort of output protection also is being cheap.

I use stainless wool the type that is super sharp on the edges. I learned that back in 2011 and was told to never use the wet sponge and leave the crud and tin on the tip when placing it in the holder. I have used Weller irons for 30 years and my iron is about 40 years old (got it used). Since that day I have not thrown away one single tip they just last.

Hi, nice video. Regarding the use of the Micsig vs. Picoscope in this repair, would the Picoscope be an option with the Micsig differential probes that you tested several years ago? Or does it have some limitations? Thank you.
