I'm 46. Never been involved in politics but have always voted. I've voted for Labour, lib Dems and for the last few elections have just independent. I've never voted Tory even though I lean to the right more. I've only just discovered the SDP and am very impressed with of your policies. I hope you can get more publicity because I really think you would be very attractive to people like me. I would have voted for you in the last elections but there were no candidates in my constituency. I'm in Burnley. The independent I did vote for used to be a member of your party. I've been really impressed with your leader. He seems to be really honest and open and natural when he talks. He comes across to me as the best leader of any of the parties.

While I sympathise with many of the views of the SDP my general view is that the cultural and demographic trajectory of Britain (and the West in general) will not be reversed within a liberal democratic framework. At best you will slow the boiling of the frog which could be argued to be a bad thing because it will placate people into thinking the fundamental problems have been solved; meanwhile the basic contradictions of having a "diverse" society play out regardless.

PR is a terrible, terrible idea. Stop breaking the last few things that are still actually good about Britain.
