Way more to the Chychrun trade, if you look under the surface. Jensen was a huge acquisition for Ottawa next to Ullmark trade. He solidified the defense and has helped make Chabot so much better. Fans love him.

Nick Jensen is honestly worth the first round pick on his own. He's been such an amazing player for Ottawa. Maybe the biggest difference (outside of Ullmark) between Ottawa being as good as they have been this season.

People like to underestimate the Hurricanes as much as they like to overestimate them at the beginning of the season. Hurricanes had a worse record last year at this point in the season. But then went on to be in the Presidents trophy race

Chychrun is putting up the points again, but he is playing the same as in Ottawa. 2nd worst 5 on 5 chance differential on the Caps and 211th out 259 in the NHL at relative 5 on 5 expected goals. Full credit to the Caps for maximizing his strength, but nothing about the player has changed from Ottawa/Arizona. Whoever signs him in FA is going to have insulate the hell out of him.
