I know you guys are probably joking about the ER comment, but my wife is an ER nurse and yeah that’s how it’s supposed to work lol. You’re triaged and seen based on the severity of your injury/illness, how many beds are open, and how many nurses are on staff. Wait times in the ER are what they are because, in Ontario at least, (1) lots of people are coming to the ER when they don’t have a true emergency (a lot of these folks are homeless and just want a warm bed and food - another topic to discuss), the people who are in dire need of the ER take up the available beds, and there’s a shortage in nurses. That’s not to say that you need to be a doctor and assess injuries yourself before you go to the ER, it’s completely acceptable to go there when you’re just not sure and want to be cautious (like anything to do with a baby). But, lots of people come to emerge with “tummy aches” and other petty bullshit that could be addressed with (1) common knowledge, (2) urgent care (not the ER), or (3) your family doctor (oh wait those are in short supply too). Those people also like to yell and scream about how the system is awful and nurses suck, go privatization. Aaaaaahhhhh 🙄 Yeah, our health care system is a little broken, and the solution is to properly fund it, pay nurses and health care professionals way more to incentivize more people to join the force, and have strong educational messaging about how important our health care system is and how to optimally interact with it.

Many many years ago, I slid a wood chisel into my hand, bad enough for stitches. I went to Emerge, and waited and waited. Finally, getting the stitches, the Doctor asked about the wait time. "I don't ever want to be first in line here," I said.
@davidfitzpatrick653510 сағат бұрын
Problem is urgent care is a mess as well! Closes at 5 and sometimes earlier if they're too busy. Where I live if u don't stand OUTSIDE IN THE FREEZING COLD FOR 30-60 MINUTES BEFORE THEY OPEN U'll be there FOREVER and u say "Well go later" yeah LATER THEY'RE CLOSED (not takign patients) cause they're so busy! WHO THOUGHT ITS A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE ONE WALK IN CLINC IN A TOWN THAT'S LARGE ENOUGH TO HAVE A OHL TEAM???? There's "TECH 2" but one's a Tele med clinic where u sit and see a doctor on a computer and the physician there makes its so unpleasant a lot of people wont go.

paying them way more is insane, so they should make more than anybody else in Canada? They already are in most cases. Look at the sunshine list, yes its overtime, but they get paid enough. Funding shouldn't go to wages, it should go to better work-life balance, less stress. the amount of $140K plus salaries amongst nurses is crazy.

The quick commentary on the Sharks was so misguided. They are building their young core around good reliable vets like Toffoli, Granlund, Zetterlund, etc. They will avoid being like Chicago and Buffalo thanks to it too. Granlund likely resigns unless they get offered a 1st for him. This is likely the last year of them being a bottom 3 team and will probably be a bottom 10 one next year with A full year of Askarov and a full development year for our young guys in the NHL. Also a deep D free agent class so if they can sign 1 reliable top 4 D for next season that will go a long way on the rebuild towards a bubble spot in likely 2 years
@crushdavis7048Сағат бұрын
i still think the D Core needs massive work. Thrun and Mukamadullin have looked alright for being young players, and Dickinson will prob be a stud but I feel they need to do major surgery there. For me the answer for what the Bruins need to do is obvious. If you look at their core, they not that old outside Marchand. So a retool-on-the-fly is the way to go. Try to get younger and a bit more faster. See if they can move out H.Lindholm and Zadorov for younger player, and spend more on forwards. Players they should call on: T.Zegras, A.Romanov, O.Bjõrkstrand, A.Burakovsky, L.Reitchel, Y.Sherangovic and D.Cozens

As a Leafs fan, I don't agree that this team is like 2013, however, their play is concerning. They haven't even really been able too control games against bad teams. When they play really good teams they get outplayed pretty badly. The wins against Dallas and NJ were games where they got dummied on the balance of play but they won. Their analytics are mediocre too bad. It would be nice to see them control play more. If I am a possible wildcard team I would be hoping that the Leafs finish first in the division because they would be the best chance of an upset just based on how they have looked on all round play. Hopefully they figure it out in the second half of the season, but a big problem with their style of play is they dump the puck in so much and they haven't been connected on the forecheck, so they get no sustained O-zone time because teams just go back, make a quick pass, and get out of the zone, this causes the Leafs to get less shots and makes them have to defend more.
