I love how simple it is, definitely the simplest of any software out there. You can tell it's still fresh, lots of development to do, but I appreciate that the focus is on making current features best in class, and only adding in new things once the UX meets a certain quality bar. Instead of just rushing to new features

I bought an RSPdx just for use with this software on my Mac when I am at work and want to listen to HF remotely. Works flawlessly via cellular internet, from my mini windows PC as a server at home. Well done! Can't wait for more features.

It's a big step forward that SDRConnect is available for various platforms! I have hoped for long that MacOS and Linux would be supported at some point in time. The server functionality is also an awesome addition. Great work!!!

Big Hi-Five to the software developers for making the install download file for Linux! It was as simple as downloading the installer, changing the file attributes and running the installer and following the prompts. It just plain works on my OpenSuSE Leap 15.5 install with my RSPdx Thanks again for your efforts in supporting Linux! Doug N7BFS

Yes, the channel memories AND the fran (the frequency annotation on screen) is something I would very much appreciate. One issue with SDRuno that has FRAN as an extra module is that you need to load every time the FRAN module. I hope to see these two features in SDR connect preloaded.

I very much appreciate the work so far on SDRconnect I run OpenSuse Tumbleweed and it runs flawless without any hassle. My wish list for important improvements are: 1) re-implement memory banks from uno. Keep it texted based (but csv, JSON,YAML formats are fine) on the data and easy to edit, import and export. Keep the ability to easily switch what memory bank you are using. 2) the uno scanner function 3) scheduled recording 4) new functionality, a plugin or something that decodes trunking P25. There i nothing that supports both Linux and RSPduo :( and al the municipal stuff in my area uses P25.

Having a few issues with my Tumbleweed. I suspect there's some detritus from other SDR software in the way. All th UI works but there is no signal, even though the receiver is definitely connected. Pi400 is on standby for a fresh install... And greater mobility.

@@BerndFelsche yeah, my TW is fairly fresh. The only other SDR I have is SDR++ and a flatpak of SDRangel that doesn't work :/ Speaking of Flatpak would be nice option for SDRconnect

Wow. Excellent. Can’t wait for sets of frequencies to be recalled so, for example, local repeaters can be heard and recorded. And a scan that runs live or recorded.

Nice! Timeshift would be useful I think. I see some signal and it ends just when I tune to it. I would like to click 'go back in time' and play data delayed in buffer from selected time ago (configurable, depending how much ram I want to use for this feature)

Love the update. Is there a roadmap of what new features and fixes ? I am only asking as the ability to save the different GUI screen locations was a real bonus with SDR Uno. Having this ability on SDR Connect would be great. We can have screen profiles stored for if a users pc is plugged up to another monitor or just running on one screen.

Are there any limitations when using SDRConnect with the Older RSP2? I noticed that the HiZ input selection was not shown when I first booted the S/W & my RSP2. But after ~5 minutes, the HiZ connection showed up in the pull down window. Thanx.

I love having this for Linux. I gave up Windows 15 years ago. I do have a question that might end up a suggestion: Are the band definitions in a file? If so, I can't find it on my Linux install. Being able to edit these entries would be great. For example, I would edit the polar sats from CW to FM @ 50kHz. If they are hard coded I hope you will consider using a text file instead. You can have multiple VRX with any RSP, but only the RSPduo offers Diversity Tuning.

Is there a way to confirm in SDRConnect whether my antenna is well tuned with my RSP1B receiver? Any threshold values on the SDRConnect UI that indicate whether the RSP1B gets a healthy signal from the antenna or not?

Basically a healthy signal from the antenna will always be represented by a spike in the spectrum display which shows the signal is stronger than the noise floor - the noise floor is the mushy line at the base of all signals. This is true for both SDRconnect and SDRuno. If you have a very high background noise level, then the signals will need to be even stronger to be detected.

Thank you for the very informative video. As of April 11, 2024, I just installed and am running SDRconnect on my Intel Mac. Here is an observation: When I open About SDRconnect, in the pop-up window, immediately below the header title SDRconnect is the word Preview. Shouldn't there be a version number? Or have I somehow downloaded and installed a "Preview" version? Thank you.

All the SDRconnect updates (which come out every few weeks) are being called "Preview" - but they are production ready - it's just that some key features that people have been used to in SDRuno, still have to be added before we drop the name "Preview". The specific version number is shown - for example the latest release version of SDRconnect Preview ends in the characters "9dc"

I plugged my new RSP1B into my desktop before installing the SDRConnect software because I did not know ahead of time that was the wrong procedure. Now SDRConnect does not find the RSP1B. Does anybody know how to fix this? I'm thinking of installing SDR Uno and doing it right. Is that going to work now that I've already allowed the device to be installed by Windows when I plugged it in the first time?

Great video. However, I have noticed that I can not select antennas on SDRduo. The HiZ option was available only on the first run of the program. Also, there is no option to save the layouts. For instance I would like to have 3 VRXs to monitor FT8. I can not save this layout and play it later. I think software has potential but too many things does not work to for me to make it useful and invest time in testing. In my opinion the ability to select antenna should work 100% before any notch filters and other features are added. I hope this will be resolved one day and real testing will start. The concept is great. I hope one day it will work.

@@SDRplayRSP Thank you for your reply. What would be the range of the frequencies? I was on 640kHz AM, perhaps the frequency was to low for HiZ to work. I still think this is a bug since it was working for a while right after I started the program for the first time. I will give it another look.

For me, this is a big step, but in the wrong direction! I'll stick with SDRUno and use it for as long as possible, but if it stops working I'll unfortunately have to switch to new hardware. What a pity!

I have only one suggestion at this point in development but I've noted that accidentally changing the frequency is very easy to do if the mouse pointer is over the left window. Perhaps requiring a key down and moving the mouse, would prevent that.

I'll clarify on the frequency change. I use a Magic Mouse, and if the pointer is anywhere on the frequency display or waterfall, any accidental "swipe" will change the frequency, with no mouse click. Do you guys have a direct link for feedback or bug reports?
