Phil Patterson It's regional, not national. Bengal is not a region that traditionally used curry leaves whereas other regions in India may be known for that.

+Phil Patterson Curry leaves are mostly used in dishes from South India. In Bengali cuisine curry leaves are almost never used. The thing is, in India there are many different types of cuisine and the ingredients and style of cooking differs a lot.

what the hell??!! curry leaves??!! I mean why they are misleading people with these kind of wrong interpretation??!! I'm Bengali..we never ever use curry leaves in our fish curry..and though it's not even close to our traditional Bengali fish curry..lol.. cooking traditional dishes is not a joke!!

If bengalis are known for two things, one of them surely will be their food loving and fondness about authentic bengali cuisine. And if you gave any bengali a fish curry with curry leaves saying it is a bengali cuisine, he might throw the bowl at you. Certainly, it is not at all a bengali dish, not even anything close to that.

i am sure its not a Bengali dish.. 1st curry leaves are not useing in any Bengali dishes.. 2nd. Bengali dish without rice is like a flower without aroma. Its only 'Macher Jhol ' 😂😂😂😂😂

This is not a Bengali fish broth, this is a fish broth made a by an ethnic Bengali for British palates. If you are interested to see what a real bengali fish broth is please search 'macher jhol' or 'macher rassa' for the Indian Bengali and Bangladeshi versions respectively.

Curry leaves in fish. Bengalis will throw out their plate. Bengalis do not add curry leaves in fish. Even in north east Bengalis hate curry leaves. You are mixing south India ingredients on north eastern dishes'
