The windshield idea is amazing. Heated grips are very useful. Come the day you stayed out too late, you’re wet and cold. They help.

A large (12 gal+) rear mounted extended range tank would improve this greatly, as would a folding bimini. Ultimately they should make a more robust version with an aluminum hull and a retractable stainless intake screen that protects the impeller/wear ring from rocks and other small hard debris for running slow in shallow water.

@@ThatCasualZach retractable would be difficult but a screen would surely cause cavitation at high RPMs so it would only work at low speeds. If it's not convenient to use then people won't so it would have to be retractable by some mechanism.

I would think it would create cavitation too, but that doesn't seem to be the case/a problem for the jet boats they use on the rivers in for example New Zealand.

They need to, they would sell a lot more units if they did. They also need to put another transducer on the back somehow for a better reading. They should make the windshield an option too for the fish pro. I would like to see a model designed for carrying out big game animals. I know a lot of people do a lots of hunting on rivers in remote areas and to be able to pack a big mule deer or elk would be awesome.

Living in Michigan, the windshield would be nice in fall/early spring along with the heated grips. I agree that they need to add a rear in-water transducer somehow but not sure that's possible.

The fish pro already has a trolling mode. Seadoo calls it slow mode and it’s on every ski but go figure

No because results vary on too many factors. You can see a long distance test we did on a Sea-Doo FishPro (same hull and powertrain) for a better idea.

Without a reinforced bottom, it seems like a miss for real exploring. Until then it is just an adequate platform to create lots of margin by selling add-ons. If I was in the market for an additional special purpose watercraft, as I am probably someone who they are looking for (as a sea-doo and Argo owner), this would not appeal to me. I will wait for the next gen and reassess. I do like the hand rail.

Ok. This might be my ultimate choice. But I am still seriously not sure whether seadoo has done anything about its ST3 hull's annoying habit of catching on a cross chop. I have been listening to Kevin , and am just not sure what to believe. I mean seadoo is pitching it as an all weather/water hull, but user experience according to Kevin is different. So is this new seadoo with an ST3 any different? It is still just better to go for the GTi SE 170?

@@mblackmore3533 I did a little looking on sea-doo.com and the Trophy is the better one. The features that make the explorer what it is, can be added to the Trophy. The biggest difference being the live-well and dual battery feature not on the explorer.

Perhaps I am too quick to assume that since seadoos website allows you to add the accessories such as the windshield to a trophy order, that they are a direct fit. The dealership I use and also 9 dealerships I've called looking for it all have multiple customers who've ordered and paid form the multi rack and now it's being put to use standard on this new model. Love that front bumper. Wish it came with a front storage rack as standard as well. A 2 stroke diesel instead of gasoline plus something that is saltwater certified with a washdown and you'd have a true long range PWC. Still it's not like Yamaha is doing this so nothing like being first to market.

The RXP Apex is a consumer R&D study for the steering damper. It's not a tech they want to throw at the whole lineup in case people hate it or never adjust it so they put it on a costlier limited edition and they will take the feedback from buyers and if positive they will likely offer it as an option on the RXP and ST3 hull next year.

Kawasaki uses a digital key. Sea-Doo uses a specifically coded DESS lanyard. Yamaha uses a 4 digit PIN number.

Seadoo forgot one thing on the Explorer... lights!! Cant believe they havent thought of this. I think they sell them aftermarket. Red/green for the bow and stern. I hate waiting for sunrise or coming off at sundown. You're welcome Seadoo. Watch. $450 option probably next year.

At this point and for the price you should really just buy a small boat and not be trapped in the proprietary gear ecosystem from seadoo. These PWC's are ridiculous, like a BMW on the water with all these features that will break in 10 years and good luck finding spares. Can't wait for the marine salvage edition with a recovery davit and proprietary seadoo gas bags that only inflate from a seadoo air compressor.

No, Sea-Doo was first with Launch Control for PWC. And the diffuser on the Ultra is not a windshield at all.

Maybe not truly launch control but Kawasaki had auto trim first back on the 96 1100 ZXI. KATS (Kawasaki Automatic Trim System). Hopefully Kawasaki sees this and will listen to you on the Ultra LX. Give it some serious cruiser options like this thing has. This is a great concept. Sea Doo does listen to the market and think outside the box.
