Thanks for posting your videos! Just put an order in on a Stealth Stalker! Tired of being so limited shore fishing. I'll be fishing the flats here in Florida so I'll put this boat to good use. Thanks again for posting your videos they really made a difference!

Great video, i bought the STS 10 also, but got the 55LB. thrust Minn Kota and a 12.8v 100 AH Lithium ion phosphate battery to power it. I get 6+ hours of runtime compared to the original 27 size lead acid battery that i bought originally, which got 2.5 hrs.! I have yet to run the lithium battery out of juice., and use the lead acid battery for a back up. Great fishing boat! and i totally agree about the ice skating effect with the boat at low speeds. I find myself coming in hot with the prop up before landing. The boat is very well constructed. I did not get the canvas top on mine.

As someone said before thanks for posting. I was wondering what your speed is on 4 & 5. The lake I fish is about 3 miles long. Trying to decide on whether I need one or two batteries. Also, which speeds do you think would be ok for trolling? As I could troll till I get to where I’m going to fish. Thanks again. By the way I got the same boat. But I didn’t get the canopy. As I fly fish mostly.

Wow, awesome review! Thanks for the info about the battery capacity and run time. Also, thanks for all of your detailed replies to comments. I'm thinking about getting an STS10 with a Minn Kota Endura C2 or Endura Max motor. Need to decide on motor thrust, shaft length, and battery capacity. After owning it for a few years, would you still recommend it?

Looked at all your videos now and thank you. I am thinking about buying this boat only for farms ponds and 12 acre lake. Do you use an anchor? If so which one? What is model of your trolling motor? Fishing only and usually take only tackle box in small bags. Is there a way to attach more scotty to put a net or fish finder?
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
Brian K Zimmerman One 10 to 15 lb mushroom anchor is all I use. You'll have to use two to keep from spinning if it's windy. Trolling motor I use is the Minn Kota C30. You can get those Scotty adaptors that house 4 poles in one socket. I would suggest that. Otherwise you could glue more posts to the boat as needed.
@mrwonderful77407 жыл бұрын
Probably need two. Hold 4 rods for my partner if fishing two and 4 for me. Hang a net? Thanks. Your videos have been great. I'm just trying to decide on this boat or the pontoon. Which would have the most storage?
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
Brian K Zimmerman Check out weight capacity on the pontoon. If memory serves me right, its quite a bit lower. Storage would be a challenge on both as the boats are kind of small. I keep all the little stuff under the seats.

Really enjoyed your review and I got some great info that I gave up on finding you got. I order the the same min kota and the m27 marine battery by diehard. with 182 minutes of use so your figures and bread down of time was excellent news. I bought a INTEX Mariner 3. It leaked on first filling. I sent it back and waiting for the much lesser Intex Seahawk 3. Everything from China is sold out and if its not... it's refurbished rubbish. But I got online line to look at this sea eagle and found your video. It's pricey but I'm considering it. I know this video is 6 years old. How did you make out. Did it last and was it worth the money. Do you know the INTEX Line? Looking forward.

so how many times have you been in the boat? How big were the waves? I really want one but I'm doing research first
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
I've been out on the boat about 12 times. I have only taken it to inland lakes, so waves are probably not the best way to describe it. Most of the time, the water has been really calm and I do most of the boating in the evening or morning. I have had it out in the middle of large lakes before in white capped conditions (20mph winds). If you are considering one of these, I would suggest a long shaft four stroke outboard. A 2.5 HP is plenty. Just make sure it's long shaft. You will never feel "unsafe" in the boat as it's an inflatable and sits on top of the water. It will be uncomfortable though as there is no "V" hull to cut through the chop. If I had to do it all over again, and if I had no HP restrictions on my lake, I would probably get the Sport inflatable with a 10 HP motor. With all that being said, this is a great boat and has served my needs. Very stable.

Hey jason, thanks for the video. I just ordered the sts10. wondering if after your experience you might recommend more thrust?
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
Michael Regets I would probably go with 55lb thrust just for speed purposes and to navigate easier in windy conditions. just know that it will eat up a marine battery pretty quick.

Michael Bland Great questions. Overall I really like the boat but it comes with great benefits and limitations. No one boat can do everything. I also ended up buying a 15 ft aluminum Jon boat Pros 1. Outrageous weight capacity for size 2. floats in about an inch of water 3. extremely buoyant with no fear of being swamped 4. silent on the water 5. great for fishing 6. hard bottom floors are so nice 7. no trailer needed. 8. store in my closet when not in use Cons 1. lengthy setup process even with electric pump. boat is too heavy for one person to lift once assembled, so it has to be built at the boat ramp right next to the water. that gets stressful 2. DO NOT buy a short shaft outboard for it. Doesn't work. needs to be long shaft and they are hard to aquire that way with such a low HP limit 3. Low HP limit 4. Transom is not fixed which really limits options 5. boat has to be treated and cleaned all the time 6. extra safety equipment required to deal with tube emergencies in an already small boat 7. lakes with large amounts of "stick ups" can wreak havoc on tubes and generally stress you out.
@michaelbland78207 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Jason. That is very helpful. A few more questions if you don't mind. (1) How long on average does it take to set up with an electric pump? (2) What do you mean the boat has to be treated and cleaned all of the time? (3) What type of extra safety equipment do you carry in light of the tube emergencies. I assume that you mean puncture risk? (4) I own several one person inflatable pontoons with all of the gear but wanted a boat for two people. I currently have a Minn Kota Endura Max 50 motor with 36" shaft. Do you think it will propel the boat adequately? (5) How much room is there for fishing gear if you have to people? (6) How much leg room is there for someone over 6 ft? (7) What other two person small inflatable boats did you consider, if any? Thanks again!
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
Michael 1. Well, it only takes about 10 minutes to set the boat up. Maybe a little less if I have help, which I rarely do. What takes more time than anything is unpacking everything in the truck and putting it in the boat including the motor. I usually camp with the Sea Eagle so there is a lot of equipment.2. Once the boat has been in the water for a few days, the tubes get all slimy and dirty from the lake water and debris. If you do not treat the tubes after you get back home, it can stain and cause decreased life of the boat3. Well, the patch kit they give you is decent. Problem is this: If you have the tubes treated with UV protector, the sealant in the patch kit will not stick to it, therefore, you have to take some isopropyl alcohol or something to strip the protectant on the tube before sealing. I also carried a roll of high strength duct tape. 4. The 36" Minn Kota will be fine, but be aware that if you want the operating handle to be a comfortable height when sitting down, the prop of the trolling motor is going to be pretty deep. Not recommended in shallow waters! I had two 30 lbs thrust trolling motors going on mine at the same time and was traveling at about 4 mph if I recall. It will still struggle if it's really windy or wide open waters. 5. Not a ton of room for two people with both seats in it. I would say two small tackle boxes, a small cooler and basic support equipment are all you're really going to get in there. You can gain extra space by mounting a seat to the top of a cooler and sitting on that instead. You can also remove the seats entirely and simply sit on the tubes. I've done that before and it isn't as bad as one might think. 6. Leg room is fine. I'm 6'1" and had no problems with me and my Dad in it. He is 5'11". 7. This one is tricky. It's all about what you plan on doing and how fast you want to go. I always use mine for camping, and fishing in calm waters, so I don't care about speed. I wanted more stability than anything else. If you want to leisurely cruise the lake, I would recommend more of a sport inflatable with a hard floor so you can fish out of it too. Saturn inflatables are excellently priced and I have considered one of those for quite some time. Be aware that inflatables always require more power to push the same speed as a fully rigid boat.

Thanks for posting these videos, as others have said no one else is reviewing this boat. I have the SE-9, having been using that model for 10 years now but I'm on my 5th one. The seams just don't hold up. Fortunately I've only had to pay for two of those boats, the rest covered under the 3-year warranty. Anyway, I have considered upgrading to the STS10 but question how much room you actually have with 2 people and all your fishing gear. The seats seem like they eat up a lot of space. Can you comment on that?
@jasonw22918 жыл бұрын
The seats do take up a lot of room but are a great comfort option. Many small items and loose equipment can be put underneath them though as the seat bases are fairly small. It really depends on what you're doing with it. Will it be for day trips only or weekend events?
@joev7078 жыл бұрын
Always day trips but we load up the SE9 with the battery, two tackle bags, a small "boat" bag for small things, two life-vests, sometimes an anchor and lanterns, and sometimes up to 6 rods. All that goes in the center of the SE9 with one person at the bow and the other on the motor mount seat at the stern. With a person at the far front and back of the boat, there is plenty of storage in the center. Seems like the seat placement on the STS10 and the foot room needed reduces the amount of gear you can have.
@jasonw22918 жыл бұрын
+Joe V seems like this boat is going to be too small for you.
@dorvezjohnson54177 жыл бұрын
Is a 36" shaft on a trolling motor long enough or too long for this boat?
@jasonw22917 жыл бұрын
30" trolling motor shaft is ideal. A 36" shaft will work just fine as long as the water is deep enough to lower it down so the handle height is comfortable. If you are operating in shallow waters, it might be too long.
@dorvezjohnson54177 жыл бұрын

nice, Thanks man. I needed to hear those reviews, opinions. Do you use the canopy everytime?? I don't think it'd be needed. just wondering. thanks again.
@jasonw22919 жыл бұрын
I usually take it with me, but as stated in the videos I am out for several days at a time camping so it's nice to have. The pros of the canopy is when you are moving from one location to another and not fishing. it really is nice not to have the sun in your face. The big con is if you have two people. It won't work unless you modify the forward strap. It's also kept me dry in light rains. for a fair weather day trip though, it's not needed.

@Jasson W Dumn question...how did you transport it to the lake? Do you have to use a trailer or throw this in the trunk and assemble on site?
@jasonw22919 жыл бұрын
@lonchik I have an F-150 and I just throw everything in the back truck bed and assemble on site. Usually I pull up next to the water on the boat ramp. I am looking into a flat bottom inflatable boat trailer though because assembly disassembly on site is a pain
@jasonw22919 жыл бұрын
Some people have used the Harbor Freight 4'X8' folding trailer. It will have to be modified though because the STS10 is 5 feet wide by 10 feet long.

I really like that boat from what I have seen just too expensive for my taste, I ended up getting a sea eagle SE 8 for a few hundred dollars from cabelas.
@jasonw22919 жыл бұрын
The SE8 is a wonderful boat and has many great reviews. with that being said though, here are some drawbacks on that boat. the hull is 1 millimeter thick. that is very thin and cannot handle rocks or sharp objects. with the hull that thin, the transom has a lot of flex and the boat isn't very efficient. the STS10 is 26 miles and pressurized to a couple of lbs. it's completely rigid when inflated.

Thanks for the series of videos Jason. Im purchasing an SS10 tomorrow. I already have a 45lbT minn kota that im going to start with for now. I mainly will be fishing solo not much gear, how do you think it will do speed wise? I dont care about going fast but more about if i get in a wind of 10mph or so in a harbor. Btw, did you try the sea eagle skegs? Might help alot so the boat wont feel like an ice skate and track better.
@jasonw22916 жыл бұрын
brian phelps I've never tried those skegs. Could work really well. Beaching the boat could be an issue with them though. As far as the 45 lb thrust motor goes, you can expect speeds of 1-3 mph. Be careful though. You shouldn't discharge deep cycle lead acid batteries below 50% so you're only going to see an hour or so at full thrust. As far as the harbor goes, I would suggest calm day early in the morning or late evenings. With a gas outboard, no worries.
@jasonw22916 жыл бұрын
brian phelps I ended up switching to a gas outboard because I use it on larger lakes. Make sure you get long shaft if you go that route
@bchasefpv89256 жыл бұрын
thanks for the input. I wonder if it can hold a small 2.5 motor and the trolling motor. Still want to use that trolling motor in fishing shallow water to sneak up on fish.

@jasonw22918 жыл бұрын
@mrdrh99 Thanks for the feedback. No exact reason why I chose the STS 10 over the Foldcat. I didn't have any experience with either of them. For some reason, the Foldcat just seemed a little too open on top and I figured I would have to make a custom floor and then having to strap everything down in windy/rough waters since there aren't any walls. I carry a lot of camping and fishing gear and usually travel several miles. It seemed at the time that the STS was just an easier option. I'm sure the Foldcat is a great boat though and maybe now it is possible that it could serve my needs just as well as the STS has.
