I bought that exact same motor online from walmart a year ago. It's been an absolute beast. I don't have a single complaint about it. Make sure you're following their break in instructions and changing out the impeller at 100 hours. They say it shipped without gear oil in the lower unit, but mine was full. I changed it out anyway, just to be safe. When you winterize that bad boy, if you do. Keep an eye on your carb. I didn't and discovered the pure hell having condensation build up would be. Easy enough to flush though. Also, ya it's great that they give you a gas tank, but it's not the greatest. Be very mindful not to over tighten your gas cap. The shaft that the cap screws onto, on mine snapped really easy. Noticed you didn't seem to use the choke in the vid. It does help. Mine almost always fires up first pull. Take care of it, and that little motor will run tops for ya!

Carb condensation definitely happens because of ethanol fuel. Ethanol absorbs water and will drag water all through your carb. Then in storage it will trash a carb. Try To run straight gas id you can find it. You can remove ethanol from your fuel but it's time consuming.

This engine is an out of patent Evinrude from the late 70s early 80s. Patents run out, then china can copy them .

@@Dawgpound205 Technically no, they do not matter internationally, but generally a company will file for protection nearly everywhere. With China it gets weird because they generally don't care if you hold any patents. In any case, if it's not protected in a jurisdiction you can make it there, but it "should" get caught in customs and destroyed, which is like swatting flies on sh*t.

Yea, Lojo made a pretty terrible heat-of-the-moment decision. I have a feeling it's because AYO started as his Camera man, and now he's passing Lojo's views and quickly passing him in Subscribers. Lojo just never really fit in with these younger, more energetic guys. Heck even his new Cameraman is just a bucket of awkward anytime he's in the shot. Probaly wont hold up good as they dident break it in at all they jusy full throttled it you should let it a quarter throttle for 20 mins turn it off let it cool so it goes through heat cycle do it agian same thing then half throttle 2 times same thing then 3 quarters same thing

Ayo the joy you bring me and my wife is unbeatable. I’m currently stuck in a rut with KZbin trying to figure out how to do all of this. KZbin has been my dream for as long as I can remember and bro I’m just like you. 10 years old painting controllers and selling them. 12 years old mowing lawns and shoveling driveways, 14 years old buying and reselling household items on eBay, 16 years old is when I truly discovered making videos for the public is where the true fire in my heart is lit. You have brought so much inspiration into my life with hope that someday this will all work. I beat myself up every time I go fishing now because I can’t “get a video out of it” and it’s slowly killing me. You’re point of view with everything that you encounter is the reason you will continue to be one of the best people on this damn app. I’m from Minnesota I know you’re nowhere close to me but even to just get an afternoon or an evening on the water or and evening helping do something small on the itty bitty with you is one of my biggest dreams in this current life. I just want to learn from you. I don’t want anything. No recognition, no subs, no fame. Just a conversation. the difference in price is most likely due to the cost of shipping to the UK. china to california is just a hop skip and a jump across the pacific, tons of trade routes.. from china to the UK is a bit more of a challenge, have to swing around africa and up the coast of western Europe to reach the UK's ports. definitely less of a straight shot and most likely a longer distance bc of it, which means more in fuel for transportation = the higher price on the motor.

@@07Hawkeye As an example Dalian to Los Angeles is 24 days at 10 knots. Dalian to Felixstowe is 45 days at 10 knots. Although shipping costs on container ships aren't exorbitant if you're shipping in bulk. I suspect the bigger issue is that the market for outboard motors in the UK won't be that large. We're 5 times smaller by population and don't have easy access to large inland bodies of water like the USA.
