I love the respect between you and your dog. I noticed you didn't step upstream when he was drinking, and then later he waited for you catch up a few times. Pure class !

I grew up there as a child, and I can tell you that Cod love uncooked bacon rind. My father used to go rock fishing for Cod, and always had success with this as bait.

Nice fish Mate good going. The walk and scenery there looks lovely place to cast a bait. I remember last December I had a similar walk to a point at melfort…. It was during the Christmas week when the bad storm hit and on the last day of the holiday I done some off the track bushwacking to get to the spot but boy did it pay off. Caught cod pollock and blennys saved the blank for the weeks trip and put a smile on my face for the drive home. Scotland is my favourite place I’d live there if I could 👍

Fished that mark about 10 years ago. Was busy casting and retrieving and looked up the loch to see a boat heading straight for me. There was nobody on it and it had broke free of its moorings. I was certain it was going to founder on the rocks when a guy in a speed boat came haring up after it and managed to get it under control before hitting the rocks. Exciting.

@@djgrazer1974 aye there was a big one hanging about snorting at me.😂 Not happy I was in his spot. There’s a couple of other spots not far along the coast that I fancy trying, so plan on a wee camping trip there next year to really explore the coast. Will take some stuff to target the trout too. You caught some great shots in that adventure. The scenes and narration are so good you can afford to make them longer for the viewer to take it in (just a thought, like)... It was a beautiful venue. I've had that "it's getting dark, and I'm stuck in a thicket" moment a few times myself.

brilliant video as always buddy, just out of curiosity do you ever keep what you catch? or are you just a catch and release kind of chap :)
@N57Fishing2 күн бұрын
@@ConnorKD1876 I sometimes keep pollock, I used to keep trout but always return them now. Far more enjoyable to catch them, than eat them, so I let them keep growing. Mackerel is my favourite fish, especially on the BBQ, so mostly keep those and the rainbows from local fishery.

@ Nice lad! just wondering as i’m only just taking an interest in fishing now as a young adult, any advice for starting off? i live like an hour from that spot, but really not sure where to head for my first session, dunoon is my hometown i’m sure you’ll know where it is lol
@N57Fishing2 күн бұрын
@@ConnorKD1876 I’ve not fished on that side of the Clyde but I’ll give you some really useful links to help you find a spot. www.worldseafishing.com amazing forum to learn about new spots from people who have fished them before. You don’t have to sign up to read posts and you can just type a location in the search bar and a bunch of fishing reports and advice will pop up in various threads. maps.garmin.com/en-GB/marine?maps=another-brand&overlay=false&key=gcuw202yzcru sea charts showing water depths, you can scan the coastline for spots where you have access to deep water. This time of year I’d say you really want to fish as deep a spot as possible, or try sandy beaches and estuaries for flat fish. I usually look for the most rocky part of a coast, then use the charts to check the depth and decide if I think fish will be there. Don’t be put off if you don’t catch anything the first few times, everybody struggles to catch sometimes even in the best spots. Good luck mate
