Good to see you back Matt, I was getting a bit worried, so I was very glad to hear you say how much you like making the vids, I always look forward to them. Well done, a nice varied catch in quite challenging conditions. You've got me fired up to get down to the coast and get stuck in. It's 70 miles to my nearest decent bit of sea, and as I'm getting on a bit, I need the sort of inspiration that you are so good at delivering!

Thanks Matt. Great vid, as always. Good to see you out there. Codling was the first fish I ever caught from the shore, on my then-new Beach caster and Garcia-Mitchell multiplyer. 1978. Hillhead, Lee-on-Solent. Never caught one since 😁😄!! Good to see your bass-Smile again 👍🏻 let’s hope there’s plenty this year, late as it is. Had my first this year from the Kayak (East of you). On a lure. Couple of cm short so let it swim. Looking forward to your next post. Keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

@@SaltwaterAngler out this morning (Fri) couple of mackerel and couple of nice Bass. One was such a fatty I just had to put her back only 50cm but bursting to spawn by the look of it. I also saw quite a large shoal jumping around, travelling inshore, a small ‘sea-boil’. So hopefully the sea is warming-up nicely, not just temperature but catches too. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Another pleasing watch mr saltwater. Envy your weed levels 😮 my beaches in West Sussex are a foot deep on the high water tide line and it’s just starting to take on an aroma and becoming very disliked by foreshore users . Can’t see what all the fuss is about really 🤔 when I was a kid it was 6ft deep and smelt of the sewers🤢 … can so relate to the euphoria of catching your first Sussex cod ( ling😊) I remember mine to this day .. there’s been a fair few caught of late in Sussex and late August , good tides and coloured water have been bringing them in for a few years now at this time ( put this in your diary for next year if conditions are correct) biggest I’ve heard of is 12lb so far. Thanks for sharing and well done again
@SaltwaterAngler3 ай бұрын
@@stinkymuppet9207 thanks for your comment - you always seem to capture the video and associated talking points so well (with humour) I’ve always heard reports of rotting weed bringing in big bass and mullet but so rare here - tight lines and thanks for the input
@stinkymuppet92073 ай бұрын
@@SaltwaterAngler yep you are correct I have watched these species feeding just a few feet from the shore, seaweed fly maggots seem to be their main quarry but there are other bits hopping and hiding in the weed often caught out as bigger rising tides attempting a natural clearance of the weed. It’s difficult to fish these conditions but I have had a few schoolies free lining some bread on a long light rod . Silver eels are also attracted to the weed , I never target them because they always find me especially if I use worm baits 🙄
