Nice to see you back on the beach again Matt, always entertaining videos. One thing I didn’t see you try was a short lob cast especially fishing so close to the groynes. I have usually found the very end of the groyne to be quite productive for all flatfish as the tide scours out the sand making a deeper hole for food to drop into, possibly worth a try on your next plaice trip and a report back. Tight lines, Steve.

An. Excellent and very Informative video matt I also enjoy fishing for plaice and flounders using beads I find the luminous yellow/green work particularly well with fresh lugworm/ cockle combination here in South Wales (in various Gower landmarks) and local estuaries unfortunately dogfish can sometimes be a menace please keep keep those excellent videos of yours coming Matt as I really enjoy watching them and picking up tips and new ideas

Great video matt apart from lure fishing my go to target is place , I have in the past used all different colours of beads on a rig but in my opinion fresh yellow tale or smelly black lug is the key, I have had some whoppers on the east arm of Brighton marina high numbers, I have never fished at seaford for place would you recommend going there and if so what part?
@SaltwaterAngler8 ай бұрын
Seaford a good venue yes by tide mills seems popular. Brighton Marina for some easier fishing as you say. Ive not had a decent Plaice for a number of years. A great species that puts up a fight!

Great video mate. Last two sessions iv done a comparison of fresh lug v bleed salted lug. Identical rigs cast 20 30 yards apart. 3 casts on each. Left fresh right salts then switched left salted right fresh. Was surprised that salt caught twice as many as, fresh. Maybe because its alot tougher and durable. If they want it they have to take it all and hook. Fresh gets, ragged off easily. What you reckon 🤔

Another fine presentation mr saltwater , must say a very colourful blingy start to the video followed by a bevvy of contortionist lsd’s to keep us viewers happy on a fine spring day. ( the only one this year so far I think🙄) good to see target species achieved and no point discussing size ,just revel in the joy. Bait for me? Which lug? 🤔 depends on time of year I guess . Decent blacks in late winter early spring for me around now I prefer fresh lug . Never tried salted apart from the walkers type in my packed lunch 🤷 … maybe one day , thanks for sharing

Actually those continental rods cast a 3 oz better than a 5oz but 4 good if it holds in the tide. I’m not sure about distance but slightly less than I get with a stiffer rod and multiplier - I should measure some casts so I stop saying 100 yards

A disappointing session but I'm sure an enjoyable day. I've no idea how those rigs work and how on earth do the baits detatch when they're on the sea bed, what's a cascade swivel? You shouldn't assume that everyone knows what you're talking about. Maybe it would be a good idea to film a demonstration on how to set up the rigs. This would be better done on a table and not whilst they were being used. Nevertheless an enjoyable video.
