The last time I was on Eastbourne pier was in the mid 1950s, it was only about 6 miles away from our farm. We never used to cast that far, just about 30 yards. By the way there wasn't any charge to fish back then. You need to tie a lanyard onto your car, and house keys. Pity it was so cold.

I don't usually eat fish that I catch ,but a decent size dab is delicious that and Sole ,the rest I return I feel that East wind in your face nasty ,grateful vid as usual

Excellent video Matt brave man in the cold. You need some heated garments gloves ect. I bet after the rain that dab tasted soooo good. Not fished Eastbourne pier for years. 😊😊😊

Hi I fished up by the redoubt Fort at night and caught a nice sole and missed one too a few years ago.

Hi. I usually cook my flatfish !flounder) whole in a microwave with butter and fresh tomato. I just gut and trim the fins and then cook for 7 mins it just falls off the bones.

I stopped going to that pier. Everytime I went, the guys running the place were leaving a number of rods out, but unmanned. They were just holding the better spots on the platform. They even tie rigged line directly to the railings and leave them out all day.

Lovely spot to fish and some home cooked fresh fish but you need to get some waterproof stuff or bring them with you next time. Downloaded the game and I’ve never caught so many fish 😮. Do you get cod down there, not much code get caught here anymore

Codling here in occasional catches - But not worth targeting really . Yes you’re right about waterproofs - there is always something I need to buy. Fishing clash is a chuck a cast at the moment
