Yeah when i was a kid (baby goat) i always believed good would triumph over evil. I guess i musta had the IQ of a goat. But it makes for darn good story telling. Thanks Mike. You've always been my hero. . . and your all American sponsors.

On the sea floor .... you got to love these old shows... He is always alone never a second person on the boat.. this guy is better than Batman. Do not get me wrong I loved this show and still do. Watched Sea Hunt growing up. It was a great adventure show. It was clean, no bad language and promoted water safety. Could use more shows like this today. Notice that there are trolls who have to come in and run down period shows like this. Too bad they don't understand the shows and apparently, would find ways to discredit the benefits of a mother's milk for newborns. Best to ignore these trolls on the internet and just enjoy the shows for what they were - solid, family oriented entertainment.

Ugh. I can't imagine having to deal with bodies after they've been caught by grappling hooks. What a nightmare. Good show, regardless.

I cringe every time Mike went down by himself know it was just a show with cameramen out if sight but still thought it Should have Been Stressed to NEVER Dive ALONE 🤔👍IT INSPIRED Me to take up the greatest diving enjoyment for a lifetime in all 30 years Have NEVER Once Gone Down Alone ! Rest in Paradise Mr.Lloyd Bridges a Very Underrated Actor 👍

Not too underrated. Along with Sea Hunt and many supporting roles, he was the young deputy in High Noon. Abalone on the bottom? No. They sucker onto large rocks which means you use your knife to pry them off. Took many of them off Anacapa Island and along the shoreline in California. We normally drew a diving tender from Port Hueneme for offshore dives. The crew would cook up whatever we brought up. Eating onboard a dive tender never became popular with me. When not on a tender, one of the married guys got our catch as most of us lived in a barracks. It’s amazing how good seafood is when it’s that fresh.

Damn, these shows are good ! A good plot, simple shooting (no effects) gave them all a feeling of being real life. You felt like Mike was a real person, just like Matthews of the Hiway Patrol and all those others characters. Now it's all perverts or psychotic criminals and lots of trick effects. Its all BS. Remember Mike Hammer ? Another great character, very down to earth, very real. Watching these episodes gets you excited, as if it were really happening and Mike is in real danger. Fun is what it's all about. FUN !

It would be worth making all these in color.
@dillysgirl4ever Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! In fact, the pilot for Sea Hunt was filmed in color (although only black and white prints are available). Filming anything in color back then was expensive - especially if it’s a weekly TV series (except if it was an NBC property), and Frederick Ziv was not about to spend the money for it - even after the show became a monster hit - not only because he was cheap to begin with but also because the vast majority of viewers had black and white sets - color TV was still considered an expensive novelty at the time.

There aren’t many times I can say that Mike Nelson did something dumb but this was one of those times. By opening that box up while it was still underwater he just spoiled some evidence that the prosecutor could have used.

That set of anchors isn't going to catch a diver. They're going to catch on the bottom and take the back of that boat off.

" I'll drop this anchor on top of Mike's head, as if this were a Popeye cartoon !!!" Mike's unknown adversary .
@paulkelley964110 жыл бұрын
I watched the scene a few times, stopping the scene as best I could, where the anchor comes down and hits Mike. I looked for some kind if wire that the anchor came down on, didn't spot anything. Sure would like to know how they did it, without hurting mike, that would be a dangerous stunt to do without some kind of control on that anchor!!
@eannh49289 жыл бұрын
+Paul Kelley Considering the strange angle of hit, perhaps the anchor was magnetic.
@jacktrevino11083 жыл бұрын
It was a weighted wooden prop. I don't know if the sound was added post effect like most sound of that time but the way the supposed anchor bounces and makes only a tap off of his tanks gives you a clue if this is the case.I believe they give a good, close, establishing shot of a real anchor and then drop it into the water with no diver underneath, then cut to a different shot at a different time with Lloyd in the water and they drop the weighted prop, if you look closely or slow down the footage you will see that the supposed anchor falls at almost a 45° angle when Lloyd can't be any more than 60 to 80 ft down. No anchor falls like that, not a real one and we know it's a prop of course so IDK if that's really what they did, but that's what I would have done.
@LiLi-or2gm3 жыл бұрын
@@jacktrevino1108 A lot the underwater work was done by stunt divers, so Lloyd wouldn't be exposed to potentially dangerous situations.
