SEA LIFE CAVERNS | WEST EDMONTON MALL AQUARIUM

The West Edmonton Mall Aquarium, known as Sea Life Caverns, is located next to West Edmonton Mall's adventure lagoon.
The caverns are situated below ground-level of the mall, in a darkened cave-like atmosphere, which is reached by entering the mouth of an oversized steampunk stylized fish.
The WEM aquarium showcases a gigantic full-wall view of the mall’s oversized aquarium. The tank holds many different types of fish and animals, including Nurse Sharks and a Giant Tortoise.
Other exhibits include a colony of African Penguin, terrariums in which visitors can view snakes and other reptiles and open touch pile where visitors can interact with bamboo sharks and other underwater plant life.

Always enjoyed heading to West Ed! That is very cool and maybe it is a newer addition as I don't remember that being there the last I was out that way, but that was in 1996 or 97! lol I could spend a whole lot of time in there and save money not shopping and spending! lol Take good care...Bruce and Otis

According to Best Edmonton Mall (my personal favorite source for WEM info), it opened with phase 3 in the mid 80s: bestedmontonmall.com/2021/01/15/sea-life-caverns/ So it's been around a while, but often gets overlooked because of the other awesome attractions like galaxyland and the waterpark!

We love aquariums. This one was really cool. The huge sharks and giant sea turtle would be awesome to see up close. The submarines would have been a cool attraction to check out. Penguins are always among my favorite animals at aquariums or zoos. I love seeing their antics. Poor Pita getting called out for being naughty in public. Thanks for this tour. Enjoyed the video!

I found a photo of the old colors on the Imagination Corporation website: www.imaginationcorporation.com/marine-life-sea-life-caverns As In sure you know, Imagination Corporation did the theming for Galaxyland and Professor Wem's Mini Golf, and also the Cultus Lake Adventure Park in BC and lots of other themed Mini Golfs :)

Oh man this place is awesome. My kids would love this since they like aquariums so much. I have never heard of this one before and will have to add it to the list of aquariums that we still have to visit. How long have you been posting consistently on KZbin? Really enjoy your format and voice over. Zoos and aquariums I find are harder to edit since there is so many different things that you will discover. That sea lion show looks pretty fun.

Did you know that before sea lions rock there was dolphins in that same area but sadly 3 of the dolphins died and they had to close it down
