I always find brigs are the most aggressive, yet sloops are probably more deadly.
@ultmateragnarok83764 жыл бұрын
That is partially due to the crews, but also to the ships. A hostile crew on a brigantine has likely seen some tutorial or another on how to easily sink a server recommending the ship, which also leads to them often having free or cheap ship cosmetics and all black clothing (for the ship, sets like the spartan or omen, or blank colored sails), but the ship is designed for attacks that it can escape quickly from, being so frail a target but having the quickest acceleration of any ship coupled with the slowest turning. A hostile crew aboard a sloop is likely good enough at the game to not have to rely on numbers to win, but instead tactics and skill. Their ship reflects that, being able to stay out of the firing arc of most ships and dish out a decent amount of its own fire, with the ammunition stores being so close to the cannons themselves. It is also the slowest to sink, so it can take a beating and escape regardless with a good crew. Galleons are the most varied ship, with some crews being hopeless aboard them and others being nearly impossible to actually sink, particularly with the second deck absorbing any stray or bad cannon shots with no flooding, as the ship is built to tank damage and retaliate with unparalleled firepower. Its many masts also reflect that, taking longer to fully disable than smaller ships. Of course, some crews are hopeless regardless, and others have alternate strategies for better or worse performance. It's a varied Sea.

@@nicholasrestrepo2555 Ships don't appear out of nowhere (unless they spawn at an outpost, but unless you're also there than you'll still see them, and they shouldn't spawn if you're there). I'm actually really proud of myself. There were 2 guys in the medium ship (i don't remember what it's called) and i had really nothing. I just set sail after selling my goods and i didn't have much food or anything else. They sank my ship and were celebrating on the island i was adventuring on. Well I decided I'd get back at them for that, I managed to kill both of them at roughly the same time so i knew i had a little time. I raised their anchor and set their ship straight into the island and into a skeleton that was carrying a powder keg. I put their wheel far to the right so they constantly hit the island, i then used 5 fire bombs on their deck, sails, and a few below deck. Their ship sunk and they were not happy as i got a few...colorful messages from both of them. I am solo (for the most part) as i just started playing 2 days ago. Your tips helped me a lot to get a good start in the game so i figured I'd share this story with you and the comments, thanks a lot man keep up the amazing work

@chriskalmer2804 жыл бұрын
jvu2ilj26 it depends on what you like to do in games. For me, I can easily play this game solo and not get bored because it’s just relaxing for me to do some merchant, or gold hoarders voyages. However the most fun I have is doing combat with friends, and combat while solo is extremely difficult. I watched a lot of early release videos and played the beta to learn the basics of operating your ship, I suggest you do the same. Also watch some streams to see if you like the game. This game is a hit or miss to a lot of players and I don’t want ya to waste ur money if you don’t like it. If you do decide to get the game, always be paranoid because playing solo means you are probably the easiest to sink in that server.

when i first bought this game it was a school night and i was ready to go to bed i had watched everyone play it at launch, i watched summit play it, and got a good understanding of how it works. so im like "before i play lemme make a playlist of solo beginner guides" well 2 days later when i finally opened the game i had completely forgotten about the playlist lucky for me that was one of the few times, my forgetfulness came in handy. because while I had a good grasp on the main parts of the game, sailing solo and learning from mistakes or from random encounters was the best. I realized I could use vault keys to actually do vaults, got ambushed while I thought I was safe on an island, got krakened in the open sea and escaped with all my loot on a rowboat, harassed a fully decked out galeon and ended up making friends with them, successfully pulled off 3 tucks in a row, sunk and then stole my first ashen loot haul as well as their emissary 5 flag, tucked on a ship and listened to a father/son explore the seas together(then keg bombed em), rallied 2 other sloops to fight flame beard with me and it was actually epic, and most recently fought off a reapers mark sloop while i was being attacked by a meg. its safe to say that once you learn your ways on this game it becomes the easiest way to create amazing memories. for anyone looking to get into this game, dont be afraid to go solo. sure its more work, and playing with a friend is way more fun, but Ive already started to consider this game as one of my top 10 even after just 2 weeks of playing it. because at the end of the day, its not about the loot or cosmetics, It's about having an experience (and maybe looking good while doing so).
