I will still die on the hill that Throwing Knives are the single most slept on weapon in the entire game ngl. I think too many people place an emphasis on the close range capabilities when you should really just be treating it like a no reload pistol with slightly longer ADS time and a melee power attack. It has the highest ttk of any solo weapon in the game and can easily be used exclusively if you get good enough with their more unique travel time in the air. Plus, it functioning as a solo weapon without the real need for a softener like sword/pistol or double gunning means you can take full advantage of other weapons like sword of even the grapple gun for mobility (like securing boards), or the blowpipe for constant passive pressure with the poison darts or small aoes you can play around to your benefit.

yeah but throwing knives aren't projectiles so you cant lead your shots like with bullets as their physics are different in sot

Also, Knives combo insanely well with the double-barreled pistol with a crazy time to kill when you land the double-shot and stab once.

never thought i'd agree more on the piss ghost take. almost every single golden skelly i've seen is probably the most insufferable and toxic human being i've ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with, whereas all the ghosts i've seen have been saints of the community, especially the content creators. I'd be interested in hearing your take on people who have both, however, as I think they fall somewhere in the middle, of evil and good, kind of like a tired and gruff old man who just dismisses anything that comes their way. been waiting for a video like this for a while, almost makes me want to get back into the game again.

On the hourglass rant, is it just me or does it seem like PvP players have this bad habit of asking for PvP content and then when they get it, the first thing they do is try to sabotage it every way they can. PvP is the online tragedy of the commons in action.

I have to agree with the hg rant hg was so poorly done it’s unbelievable they just made a game mode and didn’t add anything to make the experience better or to prevent people from cheesing it or from putting noobs against complete sweat lords it’s absolutely fucking miserable to play hg to the point only two types of people actively play it which is cheaters and golden boys

That’s so blatantly wrong, maybe you’re just really bad. Started playing hourglass for the first time 2 weeks ago got to guardian 156 ran into very few cheaters with a 72% wr. Sounds like mass copium to me.

@@SpearPK7 dude you’re so obviously lying because someone who just started hg wouldn’t already be at level 156 because you wouldn’t have the skills to put with players who already got there curses and is trying to get the cosmetics for hg because of the lack of PvP experience you get from just playing adventure only because of how big the map is so finding others is hard without a grade 5 reaper flag and even then people would just be running away anyways so you would still have lack a lot of battle experience for the hg game mode so you wouldn’t be able to get to level 156 in guardians of fortune and also dude you won’t be going up against blatant cheaters you would be going up against subtle cheaters so for your skill level you wouldn’t be able to notice that they’re cheating unless it’s extremely obvious

As a sword sniper player, this is accurate. Sniper does more damage than pistol, but I'm out-of-ammo-phobic so I keep that sword handy.. Also sword lunges are nice to have.

So on the subject of the Silver Blade cosmetics they not only changed what week gives what, but now you actually have to PLAY insiders to get the reward. You have to gain a certain level of rep before it gives you the reward for that week. So now people have to actually take part in any new features Insiders has and more than likely will encounter bugs and glitches, and will, hopefully, report them. Lord knows I do.

So glad to be one of the few people that own the black dog set. I can be chill if the other crew is chill, but I also love getting some pvp in. Ive longed past the idea of hunting for it though, I only fight when necessary really, unless im bored. And i am def one of the pirates that have taken long brakes inbetween the years. Id be inactive in sea of thieves for months at a time or even a year. But I always come back to play every now and then. I still am learning new stuff every time i play. I dont play to grind for myself at this point, and i usually join group posts to help newer players become pirate legend and to give them a helping hand especially against opposing pirates. U definitly nailed the stereo type for black dog set. But please do not call it the obsidian set lol, that pisses me off when someone names the black dog set "obsidian".

This is just a reminder guys to be careful when choosing cosmetics you want to get in SoT or games like it. Do you like the cosmetic because of the way it looks or feels, or do you like the set because of how rare or difficult it is to obtain? It was years ago and I used to be very irresponsible so don't blame me but I at one point spent $150 on a black dog pack, which was actually a steal (which is insane. Never spend such large amounts of money on a game). I wore it for a long long time but now I don't use a single piece of the set ever, despite having almost all of the obsidian stuff. On top of that, the literal day after I got the set I got the message I was permanently banned. That was for something I didn't do and after another day I was able to get the ban repealed. I am extremely lucky that I was able to get my account back, but it goes to show that no game is worth so much money when it can be taken away in an instant for a mistake. On top of that, there's the silver blade set (and sapphire blade set too). Of course it looks very nice and very clean, and I understand why people like it so much. This again is coming from someone who has the set. It is not worth spending months and months getting each piece. Even if it is just an hour a day, you can easily get a cosmetic set that looks very similar like the good boy set (time limited though), the magpie's glory, and certain emporium sets (again, don't spend absurd amounts of money. You can get ancient coins through events, seasons, and ancient skeletons). On top of that, there's even the valiant corsair sea dog set which has the same black and white with accents of blue. While it is still a dlc and only obtainable by spending real money, I was able to buy it just a couple months ago for roughly 30 cents. Just be careful, don't grind for things you don't really care about, and don't spend absurd amounts of money. It's not gonna make anybody with experience in the game think of you any differently either.

I will say, that last part kinda hit home with the player base which is unfortunate tbh. I played during the Arena and that was pretty terrible with the hackers and toxic players, I just feel it's more significant because it's a crew vs crew situation which just focuses all the terrible things on to the recieving crew as opposed to sometimes a half of the server teaming up against them. What I'm saying is that the sot player base constantly goes down in a significant way and then somewhat goes back up, only reason why it doesn't go back up is the pvp parts aren't as cared for by the devs since it's more of a sandbox game but it would be nice if they just made the hourglass mode better with more ideal sbmm and hackers

It's ironic, Soundsmith himself quit making stereotype videos because of the community that it fostered and the people who refuse to listen and still get butthurt anyways. Every single example of this series reincarnating itself in other communities causes great stress to the creator and brings out the worst in the community. Thus causing the eventual death of the series, Soundsmith himself never finished the series technically. He ended with Spy Miscs instead of doing an honorable mentions video like he did with Hats, since there are so many cosmetics in both categories that fitting everything that can be equipped onto the mercs in their respective videos would be insane. Much like trying to do all the cosmetics in sea of thieves would be insane for very little payoff.

im on the same boat, sadly this game its pretty boring as solo player and my friends dosnt like the game enough to play for long term goals, the last gold and glory we started playing HG but they stop cause of the cheaters, im the only one who ended unlocking the athenas curse alone spaming games and now im doing the fishing commendations cause its pretty easy to find people to just fish around on the hunters call server, but without other people i dont enjoy this game cause it takes too many mental activity doing all by yourself and most of time unless youre a GOAT pvp youwill just lose cause of action economy against a decent duo sloop.
