Sea of thieves is all about the journey not the loot. This is what every pirate worth their salt will tell you. That the most fun to be had is in engaging with other crews. Not grinding loot endlessly like I do. This is why I scuttle on sight of an enemy crew. Because I know you arent coming after my boat to tack on another 12k gold onto your endless millions, and you certainly dont need the rep. Player interactions are the most valuable part of your sessions as a pirate legend. It's not that you want my loot, it's that I want my loot, and you want me to defend it, so you can enjoy interacting with me (win or lose) as a result. But unlike cargo, you cannot take player interaction by force. It must be freely or unknowingly given. And knowing this, understanding the difference between your definition of fun in this game and my own, means that I can deny you what you play for by simply cutting my losses on sight of you, then hoping servers. Because I know that while you might find it funny, or take it as a gift of free loot for zero effort, you arent going to enjoy playing the game if there is nobody to contest you. After having this happen to you multiple times, and going entire sessions where nobody wants to interact with you. Your experience will be impacted, And mine wont. Because you are incapable of denying me what I play the game for, the awsome skeleton ship battles, going toe-toe with sea monsters, meeting new like-minded friends, and the loot, and the loot and the sweet sweet loot! Because at the end of the day it only takes me 2 minutes to scuttle and hop servers, and another 12 to get back to where I started. Having fun. _Can you say the same reapers?_

@@SirTricky thieves actually, plural. A common misconception that I wont hold against you. I never said theiving was wrong to do, just that the moment I'm interrupted by pvp, it's more profitable to scuttle and server hop than to spend half an hour getting chased or to even spend five minutes fighting. Besides, why would you have a problem with that? You get to "steal" my 5 chests and 3 skulls. Free loot for you and I jump straight back into grinding on another server. Win win right?

Question, what do you recommend where to put and store your loot on any ship? My friends say to put it next to the wheel and I say to store it inside.

Personally I put them right on the bowsprit, because when I sell my loot I ram the beach with my ship and drop the loot off the front so I don't have to walk so far to sell. Only negative thing with storing your loot in the front of the ship is that it is very easily harpoonable from ships passing by, but this has never happened yet. So currently for me; No negative outcome has happened from storing the loot on the bowsprit.

Lately I sometimes stack it all over the capstan (anchor wheel) - that way, if someone does manage to board you and tries to quickly drop your anchor, they might accidentally grab a piece of loot instead. Hopefully this helps!

Sometimes I just tuck on someone’s ship with no goal other then to fuck with them, like if they have kegs in the crows nest I’ll just light one while they are off their ship or move treasure around, or I’ll put all of their supplies in a storage crate and sometimes throw it overboard
