The USS Kid fighting the Iranians is Ironic as the class was ordered by Iran before the revolution and then cancelled by the new government. It's a Spruance class hull built as an air defence destroyer and optimized for operations in hot climates. Hence the class spent a lot of time in the Persian gulf, today the ships are sold to Taiwan.

The sub AI has improved in the last month which is good to see. Playing as a Russian it seemed way too easy to defeat US subs but your encounter with the Russian subs shows that that seems to be fixed. In the Strait of Hormuz scenario there were FAs as well which attacked before the attack boats came into range. Poor Helicopters didn't have much fun against them. They must have taken them out as being too hard (especially as three attacked from Oman!). Looking forward to seeing both you and Jive Turkey giving it your professional best in November.

Sweden replaced three 40mm L/70 Bofors guns with one sea cat launcher on it's last class of destroyers. That was a terrible trade in hindsight as the Bofors quickly became much better as ammunition and fire control radars improved a few years later. What's extra idiotic about it is that the Swedish air force already had the worlds first sea skimming anti ship missile in service when the Sea Cat was installed.

I think, if the SH-2 can launch a BOL (Bearing Only Launch) in game, the moment of torpedo detection fire off a Bloodhound on the line of bearing to mess with the firing solution of the sub. Another thing, if the helo is airborne and and the Sonar operators detects torpedo in the water, mark the initial detection location, drop an active buoy and set to deep. Typically, subs will go deep after launching their torpedo.

The main reason why there are fewer fights in the straits of Hormuz is that there are pipelines bypassing it overland so no western allied tankers use the straits. Most still using it are allied to Iran such as Russia & China and one has still been attacked by some idiot. The airliner that was shot down was running a fighter jet IDFF transponder at takeoff and switched to a civilian IDFF later. That's both suicidally dumb and illegal. There are now also 2 large airbases in Oman covering the full strait with airpower that can hit the Iranian ships without leaving Oman's airspace. But you wont find the air bases on google maps.
