Good video...just note that because you're measuring in dB (which is log scale), your sound reduction is 6-7x, not 22%. Take care

Someone should have educated you on how to cut down on breathing fumes: The dust mask is simply a waste for that purpose. If you want to avoid breathing acetone fumes - which is a generally good idea - then you need a respirator for the purpose (or an air-supplied hood, which is overkill, but also effective).

chris06095 Thanks for that comment and for watching. You are absolutely right. Definitely will keep that in mind for the next project.

You can add solar panels on a davits with a controller and some lithium batteries and not have to deal with the diesel generator much at all, maybe just for an hour or two to "top off" the batteries.

I think that is something we will eventually do. We have some friends that are adding a lithium battery/solar system on their boat now.

@@epicliveaboard8284 That is the way to go. It cost a lot up front, but will pay off big time in free energy (after the initial costs,) silence, lack of diesel smell and knowing that you always have power - independence, even from shore power. Wind is great too, though you do hear the windmills spinning while charging the batteries, but it's far quieter than a diesel or gas generator. Palm Coast looks nice. We will retire back to the US, probably a bit south of where you are, maybe on a Greenline hybrid. :)

Wow that worked well. My only concern is that the gutters now have foam in them. Will water drain ok still?

Just wanted to thank you for this video. I have a 32 Grand Banks with a single 6 diesel. It's not unbearable but it could be better or more comfortable. There are so many brands of insulation out there it's hard to know where to start. After seeing your video, I think the SoundCow insulation is the way to go! Now that you've had it for a season, how is it holding up? Do you have any other thoughts or concerns? Thanks great video!!
