Sea to Sky Gondola Alternative - HIKE UP for FREE! Squamish Highlight

Three weeks after I shot this video, someone cut the cable on the Sea to Sky Gondola at night. The entire place was shut down for 6 months and millions of dollars were spent to replace the cable and get new cars after the old ones had been dropped to the ground. 200 people lost their jobs on the mountain. It is now back open, however.
If you are up for a moderate challenge, the hike up to the top is beautiful and gets you access to the same place people pay their $$ to ride up to in the Gondola.

Another great video, thanks Kerry! I was in Squamish for the Squamish 50/50 just after the vandal cut the cable, man everybody was pissed! I hiked the Chief to do Sea to Sky, I was so bummed when I got to the Junction and it was closed! So disappointed, but I got to hike the Chief instead, still pretty darn good 😉.

Between the two destinations, the Chief is better. I've got a 3 peaks Chief video waiting to be edited, too. That might also bring back some memories to you. Hope you enjoyed the 50/50.

@@KerryWard the 50/50 kicked my butt, but I fell in love with the coast. The attitude of everybody who live there is amazing and infectious to say the least. I love B.C. sadly the race was just cancelled due to the virus breaking my heart. But I feel worse for Gary and his Co for the hardship they are dealing with in these in certain times. I can't wait for your video of the Chief, I love that hike!!!
