Just out the new Sharrow MX-A that starts at $1995 and up and has more models to choose from.

I saw that, it’ll be interesting to see if they bring those up to the horsepower rating of the larger outboards!

In the hi-perf world I spend 5k per prop on these Herrings...for my pleasure boat it comes down to pay back and at that price and the amount of boating hours it would take me about 7-9 years to get that payback. I am good with that but what happenens when you ding one up...these are things that always come up. Who does the repairs and how long is the wait. Curious if they have done on these really heavy boats like a Grady 375 Freedom with trip 450's.

Totally valid take, I just think for whatever savings you get out of them, the cost is too high for pleasure boating. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it all and move forward in the future!

I agree, I would say there price point is their biggest thing holding back sales.

Instead of reviewing a speedboat with a sharrow prop, whynot demonstrate their abilities on a slower trawler? There are still thousands of them out there and i fir one would like to see what they can do for them. The tiawanese trawlers rarely go over 2000 rpm, so that is slow compared to the fast fishing boats, so how do the sharrow props do on them?

It would have been nice to actually see the props on the motors. There was like a 1 second clip from a convention show (or something). You ran a sea trial and didn't ever show us the actual product?

That’s fair, I definitely could have had them tilt the engines out retrospectively. I appreciate the comment man.🤙

Ok they sound/look good.... 10year payback maybe?... would buy for $1K not $5K Someone will make a good copy something similar, or better for better price..

That’s honestly a very valid take, they definitely cost to much for the savings you get.

5K for a prop is stupid expensive, you could CNC a solid block of stainless for that.
@cgyachtman8 ай бұрын
Definitely there biggest set back is the price. I mean you save money on fuel, but that’s years before it pays off because of how inflated the price is. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle that moving forward.

You’re right you could cnc a solid block of stainless for that…. Which is exactly what they do….

Could machine your own for less $

Expense is definitely their biggest flaw, if they can get closer in price to competitors the benefits are definitely there, it’s just hard for the benefits to outweigh the price point in my opinion.

I am NOT going to spend $10,000 to re-prop my twin engine boat that is just stupid. $20,000 in props for this "test boat" video.

The extra price vs the savings just isn’t there yet in my opinion. Unless you were commercial and put ridiculous hours on your boat it would take years and years to break even. I appreciate the comment🤙🏻
