As you can see from the picture my chosen sport is flying gliders, or in some parts of the world *sail*planes. We have the proverb that the ones without engine do sports, anyone with a prop does transport. 😊

My question: Why are the newer generation of IMOCAs like Charlie's, Thomas's, etc. so much faster? You mentioned the placement of the foils on Yoann's. Are there other design changes that make these boats faster? Or is it just that they caught the low at the right time?

Alain Roura's Hublot problem is with the hydraulic pump that operates the foil rake adjustment, not the canting keel.

Isn’t the keel angled, rather than adjusted up and down ?! Afaik it has +/- 20° of angle adjustment…

Why is the "coffee grinder" operated by the hands and not also have the option to use the legs? Leg muscles are a lot more powerful after all.

hydraulic pressure for the keel ram comes from an electric pump. Alan’s had a bad leak.

it looks like the weather prediction model for 12+hours are kind of wrong, or assuming that the movement is faster. It looks really like at least the first 15 could have the same path, maybe slower in the back, but they don't need to move more south

That's a shame this episode becomes unwatchable about six minutes in when the audio stops but the video keeps going. When the audio kicks back in it doesn't sync at all....

If the keel hydraulic ram needs pumping up all the time as it loses pressure, where does that pressure go. A hydraulic system is a closed circuit to function. Why are these poles star and port sticking out all the time,??

You can have an internal leak, in the rams, control valves, or pump. All of those will cause a loss of pressure

Maybe related to the loss of sync between visuals and sound others complained about earlier. Rather see picture and sound back in sync.
