Imagine if Europa was the original source of life in our solar system, via its water eruptions of microbes into space - thus seeding Earth. I thought of this when the narrater mentioned eruptions of water 150 km into space. Early Europa may have been a more stable environment than early Earth, its ocean floor is protected from radiation, meteorite impact, etc. and probably has a very stable temp., combine that with a launch mechanism (water volcanism).

Awesome video once again SEA. I’m not sure why I haven’t heard about Europa before but now that I have I can say it’s one of the more interesting things I’ve learned on your channel. Space and the oceans are the two most interesting things we are learning about in my opinion.
@SEA4 жыл бұрын
Agreed! We’re still yet to explore most of our oceans, let alone oceans elsewhere in space! Imagine what could be down there!
@lms39424 жыл бұрын
SEA Yeah, it’s really interesting but creepy at the same time. You and top 5s are the channels I listen the most to about these topics. I’ve been really interested in the mysterious underwater sounds picked up by hydrophones: The Bloop (which you included in a video) Upsweep, The Train, The Whistle, Julia, Slow Down, The 52hz whale, and The Ping.

Love your videos on this moon!!! ❤You should have included something about the movie as well! Europa is so fascinating!

I saw this in my recommended section and I thought it said Europe, I was very confused.

Europe is pronounced Europa in most Germanic speaking countries. So imagine my confusion reading just the title.

Well Europa would be a correct way of calling the continent. Not really sure why British and Americans call it Europe, but they twist and turn every single foreign word how they please anyway so 🤷🏻♂️

Imagine going ice-fishing on a moon, that would be crazy. Tho more likely if we ever go there we would drill into the ocean and have a underwater station like on earth with pipelines to pockets of oxygen to filter it.

The idea of Europa having life I think is scary as it brings up one of the crutches of Fermi's Paradox. That life is not super uncommon and therefor complex life may be more likely elsewhere. So, if it exist, the great barrier may be ahead of us

7:31 I wonder if this was the inspiration for Alien's movie art cover? It looks almost the same and the movie came out in 1979 just like the image.

Love your channel. Wish there was more content to consume. I can appreciate that a lot of effort probably goes into the making kc each video. Not sure if you're familiar with Anton petrov channel but he does tonnes of videos with low production value compared to yours where he just kind of talks about current events in astronomy.
@SEA4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I have seen Anton’s videos and they are by no means lower production values, every reasonable-sized space channel (Astrum, Anton, parallax nick etc) all make great videos, and I’m grateful to be a part of a creating community with so much talent! Obviously my video lead time is increasing where I am learning more about editing but now I have finished university I hope to get things out a bit faster!!

SEA looking forward to some more videos m8! And you're absolutely right. Any content creator is probably doing much more work than the average layman like myself thinks they do.
