Great tour Bob. Though it’s going to end up costing me as I had been trying to dial back Mark’s push to sign up to lots of Retreat Days by telling him it was just okay.. you’ve blown that one for me 😀😀😀

LOL. Sorry, Gary. Glad you enjoyed the tour all the same. Ep. 3 contains the Retreat in use, as we have a Cabana our first sea day. It's a good look at what you get (service & food). IMHO, once per week or even for us as was the case- once in 14 days, was enough, given how many public areas there are in which to chill.

The retreat looked stunning!! What a relaxing space. I've got a couple Celebrity and a Norwegian coming up but I think I'm going to look at Seabourn as well.
@InnocentsAbroad2 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, it was a lovely for certain. Of the 14 days we were aboard, we only went once. Celebrity are really good, but one thing that differentiates Seabourn, is the extreme personal service. TBH, you’re paying for that upfront and they don’t fail to deliver. We took Ovation in Greece, and have an eight part series on the vacation on our channel. Thank you for watching and making comments!

What a fantastic ship, thanks for the tour. I can see why people are so fond of Seabourn, it’s a shame they’re not so cost effective for single travellers like me 🙁
@InnocentsAbroad3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Pete. They are quite lovely, but you’re right- they ought to do more for single travelers. It would not be difficult to have maybe 4-5% of the cabins set aside for that type of inventory.

@@InnocentsAbroadI have done the cruise with the Ovation and was quite impressed, did not get the opportunity to eat at the Thomas Keller restaurant though. We had a really entertaining cruise director by the name of Aimee, was she onboard on your cruise? I am booked on another one in April fo 2024 for the Iberian coast and beyod. I think I am a convert to Seabourn. My go to cruise line before that was Uniworld Boutique river cruises give them a try they are on par with Seabourn as far as quality and value for money is concerned. I have done most rivers in Europe this way save the lower Danube, ive done the Upper though.

Wow, just wow! We’re really starting to want to experience smaller more intimate ships, although out of our price range this ship looks incredible. Loving all of the small details like the light fittings and decor in general. It’s great that you have access to the bow of the ship, this would make a perfect Titanic moment, do seabourn allow drones? 🤔 (this would make perfect intro I think 😂) One of the great things about this ship, and it’s size is that you feel as if your on a yacht, the open decks are beautiful and I think I’d be quite happy sitting by the pool with a cocktail. Apologies for not watching & commenting sooner, with two cruises in one week, and work in between …and the masses of editing I’m currently bogged down and behind. ❤️⚓️
@InnocentsAbroad3 жыл бұрын
No worries about no commenting sooner. You have so many in my series to catch up to, and your own editing, lol. As to per diem, yes indeed, this is a pricey line, most of it worth it )for us), though tbh, I'd take the per diem down at least 15% for the really value (again, for us) of what was actually offered. The ship is amazing, and with that C-thing affecting passengers' willingness to jump through hoops for paperwork, it was very sparse indeed. Capacity: 600. Week 1 onboard: 341; Week 2: 231. Week 2 REALLY felt like a private yacht!

I'm on the Ovation for a Mediterranean Magic cruise next month. Wondering whether or not to bring a suit. My wife likes to dress up. Will I have occasions to wear a suit? Do others?
@InnocentsAbroad5 ай бұрын
Hi Richard, We literally just got off Ovation last week (the video you watched was our first SB Ovation cruise). I'm pretty objective imo when it comes to what 'appropriate attire' is. For SB, for a gentleman, you only 'need' a jacket and dress slacks, and even then - for the once-per-cruise 'formal night'. SB's requirements for guys on formal nights is expressly 'no tie is required'. If you don't want to bring a suit, then a collared shirt and dress slacks are fine for anywhere else, and even the MDR on non-formal nights. I took a jacket, but no tie.
@richardwest2415 ай бұрын
@@InnocentsAbroad Just a follow up. I don't mind bringing the suit. Were others wearing suits.?

@@richardwest241 Used the Retreat. See our Vlog series 'Greek Isles | Seabourn Ovation', I believe I did cover that. Consider going to the 'home page' of our YT channel; it is there you can easily see 'shelves' (catergories) of videos, - separated by Vlog series/cruise line, etc. From there, and SB specifically, it may be easier to just look at 'cruise lines/seabourn' for an easier find.
