One night I was on my knees praying to God that I wanted to hear his voice like other people do . Because I wasn’t really understanding what was he doing in my life so this morning 07/2/22I was laying in my bed and I asked God out loud around 20 times can I hear your voice and to speak to me God . And all of a sudden for the left side of my head to my left ear I heard Israel clear as day . My father died in 2012 and I never got a chance to get any love from him but I didn’t know who my father was until last summer. When I was born the Doctors wanted to break my hip to fix it my mom and grandma did not let them do it story short I was fighting with God doing of the world and With my R&B music. And it wasn’t until last week on Saturday that I surrender to God . When I was in Atlanta when my Organization voted me in on the spot to be the national chaplain and I started to hear my calling to minster to God people through my testimonies and through Gospel music.

I found it interesting how Esau ran excitedly and happily to meet his brother - I was expecting him to be bitter. I learnt from Esau about forgiving and learning what is more important than things is family.
@ryancairns139 Жыл бұрын
This is a great analysis. I think it's important also the timing of it: Jacob is headed back to meet Esau for the first time after having wronged him; Esau had vowed to kill him and is bringing 400 men with him. Jacob, through all his wit and mischief and flattery, is finally at a reckoning. He has reached the limits of his ability to rule by his cleverness alone; he now finally, humbly, wrestles with the idea that he needs God - that he CANNOT do it alone any longer.

This story was a hard one to wrap my head around. I "Wrestled" with it a lot this last year (pun intended lol). Thank you Pastor Adam for making it clear as day. My Dad used to wrestle with me, best memories ever! That memory now is redefined as reminder that my confidence and blessing does not come from myself, but from my God...

Jacob you are an important person that matters in the world. My belated brother was 35 y o when he became a paraplegic from drinking and driving . His marriage was already falling apart from his addicting habits. My brother went to live with mum parents after he was released from the hospital. My brother joined the church and in living his his wheelchair he participated in many fundraisers . Then to join the church’s men’s group to provide free ultrasounds to any pregnant mom co templatinf aboetion. My brother was not a perfect nor am I, but I feel his trauma helped saved lives. My brother got older and in 8/20 he got COVID and past away. Bottom line, my brother mattered and you matter . Others will see how strong you are in fighting which will make them feel that they can fight for a healthier life too.

I've been seeking understanding of this event for months. I greatly appreciate you going over it. I couldn't make sense of it. I tend to believe whenever God is seen he's actually Jesus. I wondered if he was literally wrestling Jesus, hanging from his foot screaming "I'll let go if you bless me" similar to his birth as the heal grabber.

All I do is struggle. I struggle with myself, with God, who I am, with sin, etc. I want desperately to have genuine closeness with God and it just seems to elude me at every turn. My life is seemingly one disaster after another and it got to the point yesterday that I yelled at God for 20 minutes. I was going to get a job, only to find that that I was not eligible to re-hired. I'm behind on my rent, almost out of food, and likely about to be evicted. I know could fix those things if He so chose, but I just want my heart fixed, my mind fixed, my soul fixed and I just want this gulf between God and I to be sealed. I know my life is of my own making but it seems I can do nothing to change it. I'm afraid years will go on as they always have, me suffering, me being on the outs with God and I'll eventually die this way. Will God ever choose to bless me? I have no idea.....
@myrevolution92 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same, wanting to change and praying to be changed but repeating patterns in my life ( if my own making) that only seem to hurt me and get me further from the closeness with God that I want though it seems another part of me runs from. I struggle with who I am and how I am. Thank you for sharing this comment. God shows me He is with me in many ways but there is a deeper level I want to get to. A song that touched my heart ( not many do is “ Touch of Heaven” by David funk. Please listen to it. I will pray that God will speak to you in a big way that you know is for you. God bless you

I didn't know about this story ( I am not quite religiously knowledgeable) until I saw a beautiful painting of beautiful angel who was so lightly holding a man struggling with him, angel looked like he was obviously powerful over the man but he let him trying to win. That is what I saw in this painting. But afterwards I found what is the story about the painting and I must say I still don't understand this story, although I am looking for explanations. The painting I saw was by Gustave Dore.
