If you are going to open the engine lid each time to connect the zip tied end, then you can also leave everything hooked up left in the garage and just open the engine lid and alligator clip it each time. Then you can use any charger and not just a marine one.

Yea you could do that I still prefer the marine charger you never know where you might be and where you might need to charge.
