I did a measured survey of the building in 1971 for Reginald Gale Architects. I produced layout and as existing.

It still fascinates me! I am wondering if you knew my father, Ken Lloyd. He was an architect in a partnership in Birmingham, but in 1967, we moved down here - Barnstaple - because of his health. He semi retired, but did some work with Reg Gale from time to time. Other names I remember - of people he worked with - are Graham Sturkey, John Shardelow, Mike Jaquiss? , John? Blaney? I can't remember too clearly, and probably other names will come to mind, but maybe you knew some of the same people!

Certainly in a prominent position - I wonder if it was built in conjunction with the former Bideford to Appledore railway? Perhaps a station house?
